Depression Checklist

There are different checklists that can help you get a better idea of whether you or someone you know has symptoms of depression.

We have included a sample of some of the most common checklists. These are:

  • K10 - 10 questions that help detect depression and other related psychological disorders

  • DSM IV - Questions based on the symptoms used to identify depression by mental health professionals.

  • SPHERE - A scale developed as part of a national mental health educational project aimed at increasing GP's rate of identification, effective treatment and management of common psychological disorders like depression. This scale takes into consideration how a person feels, thinks, behaves and what physical symptoms they have.
