Movember Foundation

Every November, the Movember Foundation is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces in Australia and around the world.

The aim of this facial furniture growth is to raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer, testicular cancer and male mental health.

beyondblue has been a men’s health partner of the Movember Foundation and grateful recipient of Movember funds since 2006.

Registering at movember.com, guys start Movember clean-shaven. For the rest of the month, these selfless and generous men – known as Mo Bros – groom, trim and wax their way into the annals of fine moustachery. Supported by the women in their lives –  Mo Sistas – Movember Mo Bros raise funds by seeking out sponsorship for their Mo-growing efforts.

Mo Bros effectively become walking, talking billboards for the 30 days of November. They raise awareness by prompting private and public conversations around the often ignored issue of men’s health.

Since its humble beginnings in Melbourne, Australia, the Movember Foundation has grown to become a truly global movement inspiring more than 4 million Mo Bros and Mo Sistas to participate in official campaigns in 21 countries.

The donations raised in Australia fund programs run directly by the Movember Foundation (through an open request for proposals process) and men’s health partners, the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and beyondblue. Together, the three channels work together to ensure that the Movember Foundation funds are supporting a broad range of innovative, world-class programs in line with our strategic goals.

beyondblue sincerely thanks the Movember Foundation and all the Mo Bros and Mo Sistas for their ongoing support for men’s health.
