The Shed Online was a public health initiative developed by Beyond Blue, The Movember Foundation and the Australian Men’s Shed Association (AMSA). The dedicated website, active from 2010 to 2016, was designed to help men meet, contribute, learn from and support other men across Australia.
We're very proud of the program's achievements over the years and the online community that was created to promote men's mental and physical health.
The Shed Online highlights include:
- From 2010 to 2016 more than 17,000 members used The Shed Online website to learn about and discuss bloke's issues in an informal environment. There were more than 1.4 million visits to the website.
- In 2013 Beyond Blue and AMSA funded the largest Men’s Shed study conducted in Australia that confirmed the mental and physical health benefits of joining a men's shed. Download the Men's Sheds in Australia report
- In 2013, Beyond Blue offered a free computer and a year’s internet connection to all newly established men's sheds to connect thousands of men across the country, encourage people to connect with their community and allow members to use the internet.
- In 2016 a 'Shed Online Recipe Book' was created with recipe contributions from 'Shedders' of their favourite meals that can be prepared in under 30 minutes. Download The Shed Online 30 minute meals for blokes recipe book
