The Beyond Blue National Roadshow visited Cannington, Bentley and Gosnells in May 2014.
On Wednesday 7 May the Roadshow team and staff from Bentley-Armadale Medicare Local chatted to shoppers outside Westfield Carousel in Cannington about the importance of looking after their mental health.
The following day (8 May) the big blue bus visited Curtin University in Bentley where students and staff picked up free information resources and filled out a mental health pledge. The pledges outline what steps a person will take to maintain or improve their mental health over the next year. The pledges are then posted back in 12 months’ time.
Bentley Plaza was the next stop for the Roadshow. On Friday 9 May Beyond Blue and Medicare Local staff provided information to the public about depression, anxiety and local health services.
That same afternoon, the bus attended the Heart Foundation’s Heartmoves exercise session at Amaroo Village in Gosnells. Following the class, Beyond Blue’s Nadine Raymond spoke to the group about the signs and symptoms of depression and anxiety and the importance of seeking support early.
Thanks to the wonderful communities who gave Beyond Blue such a warm welcome! Thanks also to Medibank Community Fund for their support.
