The Beyond Blue National Roadshow visited Fremantle and Booragoon in May 2014.
On Saturday 10 May the big blue bus attended Arthur Grady Day in Kings Square, Fremantle. Every year Fremantle vintage enthusiasts get together to celebrate the feat of home-grown bicycle maker Arthur Grady, who in 1924 became the first person to ride a motorcycle around Australia.
Beyond Blue’s big blue bus drew plenty of attention alongside the veteran, vintage and classic motorcycles on display, and staff chatted to visitors about the importance of looking after their mental health.
On Tuesday 13 May the bus visited Garden City shopping centre in Booragoon. Shoppers picked up free information resources and were encouraged to fill out mental health pledges. The pledges outline what steps a person will take to maintain or improve their mental health over the next year. The pledges are then posted back in 12 months’ time.
Thanks to the wonderful communities who gave Beyond Blue such a warm welcome! Thanks also to Medibank Community Fund for their support.
