Albany plays a special part in Anzac history, being the port where 30,000 Australian and New Zealand troops first boarded ships a century ago to transport them to war in Egypt and then Turkey. For many young soldiers, Albany was the last place they would tread on home soil.
Manjimup was next stop for the Roadshow, with the big blue bus attending the Lower South West Football League clash between the Deanmill Hawks and Kojonup Cougars on Saturday 26 April. Played at the picturesque Deanmill Football Club, the home team came out victors in an exciting match.
The Roadshow then headed into the wheatbelt district, stopping in Narrogin on Monday 28 April for a free community breakfast at the leisure centre. The bus then dropped in on Narrogin Senior High School.
