Policy Adviser (Full time)

The Policy Adviser is responsible for the provision of high-level strategic advice on policy and advocacy issues relevant to beyondblue’s goals and objectives and for the day-to-day conduct of beyondblue’s policy and advocacy activities. beyondblue takes an evidence based approach to policy and advocacy which combines the experiences and expertise of people affected by depression, anxiety and suicide with the evidence generated by researchers, evaluators and key stakeholders. We are fiercely independent and take a bipartisan approach to all our work.

The beyondblue Suicide Prevention Strategy 2018 – 2022 has a strong focus on influencing the development and implementation of suicide prevention policy, through genuine cross sector collaboration. This position is primarily responsible for managing beyondblue’s policy and advocacy activities relating to suicide prevention. This position will be responsible for working in close collaboration with the beyondblue Suicide Prevention and Support Services team, and the suicide prevention sector.

While activities relating to suicide prevention will be a priority, the position will also assist on broader beyondblue policy and advocacy activities.

This position reports to the Head of Policy and PHN Engagement and sits in the Policy and PHN Engagement team within the Strategy and Policy Group.
