Activity Detail

In April of this year Beyond Blue will be launching a new campaign featuring a well-known Australian actor, titled ‘My name is Anxiety’, to raise awareness of anxiety and its symptoms, and to encourage people to learn more and seek help by visiting the new Beyond Blue website (also to be launched in April).

The campaign primarily target Australian’s aged 25 to 45, however it will still have broader appeal. It is a ground-breaking campaign and we look forward to the involvement of blueVoices members.

The campaign will involve real stories of people who have experienced anxiety and sought support towards recovery.  Real stories are powerful in breaking down stigma, helping others to identify symptoms and encouraging help-seeking.

Beyond Blue values personal story telling in its campaigns and real stories of Australian’s experiences with anxiety will be an important part of the campaign

We would like to know your story about your experiences with anxiety and your journey through your recovery, particularly in relation to the symptoms that will be highlighted in the campaign.

The 'I Am Anxiety' campaign was launched on Monday 6th May 2013.

Thank you to all of our blueVoices members who took part in the development of this campaign by getting involved in our consultations and research, sharing stories and offering to feature in the filmed stories.

The centrepiece of the campaign is a short film starring internationally-acclaimed actor Ben Mendelsohn. The film is supported online by the real-life stories of five fantastic blueVoices members who tell how they recognised anxiety and overcame it.

You can view the short film and the real-life stories on
