Activity Detail

We are currently recruiting for a handful of Community Champion volunteer roles on Beyond Blue’s online forums.

We are looking to appoint ten new Community Champions who will post between 6 – 10 times per week providing online peer support via the forums to people experiencing anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts. You must be aged 18 or over to apply for this role.

We’re looking for people who can:

  • Use their time, skills and empathy to support people online
  • Be a warm and welcoming voice for new members
  • Use their own experience of anxiety and depression to help set tone of the community as a place of hope and recovery.

What the role involves

Having a space to ‘vent’ and let others know about the difficulties we’re experiencing in life is important.  Community Champions engage people in the forums, using their personal experiences to demonstrate hope, proactive wellbeing, new ways of problem-solving and help to show others the benefits in help-seeking and undertaking different forms of treatment (whatever may work).

Please read more detail about what the role involves in the Community Champions Guide before deciding to apply.

Activity Results

Thank you for your interest in the Online Community Champion volunteer roles. Applications have now closed and Beyond Blue Online Community Manager Christopher Banks will soon be in touch with those who expressed interest.

If you are interested in providing support to others experiencing depression and anxiety we welcome you to participate in discussions in the online forums.
