Activity Detail

Creating change to protect everyone’s mental health and improve the lives of people affected by anxiety, depression and suicide is at the heart of what Beyond Blue strives to achieve every day.

As an independent, not-for-profit organisation fundraising plays an important role in ensuring we can continue to deliver our core support programs and services.

Beyond Blue is currently developing a Gifts in Wills (also known as Bequest) program where donors, volunteers and supporters can include a gift in their Will to Beyond Blue.

Part of developing this program is creating a booklet to explain to our supporters how leaving a gift will help the work of Beyond Blue and also provide information on how to leave a gift in their Will.

Blue Voices Feedback

The fundraising team have a draft of the Gifts in Wills booklet and looking for feedback on:

  • Why include a gift in your Will to Beyond Blue section
  • What have you seen other charities or organisations do that you think worked well
  • What have you seen other charities and organisations do that you think we should avoid

The feedback and advice you provide will help guide the direction and content of the booklet.

There's also a chance to give us some feedback on what you think about Beyond Blue setting up this type of program.

Background

Leaving a gift in a Will is future focused and works towards building a strong community of people who want to support the charity in this way.

Charities recognise that not everyone wants to include a gift in their Will to the charity. Some people, on the other hand, feel very strongly about taking this extra step to ensure the work of their chosen charity can continue well into the future.
