Beyond Blue is developing a Community Engagement Strategy to help us better engage and understand our community.
The Partnerships and Community Engagement Team have been busy working on the strategy and are preparing to present it to the Beyond Blue Board in September 2019.
We need your feedback
Before presenting to the Board, we want to find out what you think of the Community Engagement Strategy 2020-22 Summary.
Beyond Blue aims to provide information and support to help everyone in Australia achieve their best possible mental health, whatever their age and wherever they live.
To do this, we have designed programs for people when they are at work, at their place of study and at home.
But there are those who are harder to reach but have an important perspective that we want to hear. This includes those who may struggle to gain employment, or who are facing challenges such as chronic illness, pain, and/or disability, those for whom English is not their first language, older Australians with poorer access to internet resources, those in housing stress and those who frequently find themselves in financial hardship.
Background on the Community Engagement Strategy
Beyond Blue is developing a Community Engagement Strategy that aims to reach all Australians, including those who may be at greater risk of poor mental health because of where they live, their background, or life circumstances.
We hope to improve our use of events, volunteering opportunities, Speakers and Ambassadors program and community partnerships and fundraising to increase our reach and understanding of communities that face a number of challenges.
We are asking all our engaged communities to tell us their thoughts and ideas. Engaged communities include:
- Blue Voices
- Speakers & Ambassadors
- Fundraisers & Donors
- Community Partnerships
Developing the strategy
The strategy development has involved consultations with our engaged communities, including Blue Voices. The consultations held include:
- Survey asking all engaged communities how Beyond Blue could better service communities that face a number of challenges.
- Focus Group exploring the themes that came from the survey and what actions we could take.
- Results from the Blue Voices Evaluation we're also taken into account.
