Professor of Medical Psychology and research expert into suicide, suicidal behaviour and non-suicidal self-injury, Barbara Stanley will be visiting Australia in November.

In conjunction with Beyond Blue, Barbara will be hosting a discussion panel on suicide safety planning.

This panel discussion for clinicians aims to increase their understanding and use of suicide safety plans.

Sitting on the panel will be

  • Prof Barbara Stanley, Clinical Psychologist, Columbia University (USA),
  • A/Prof Glenn Melvin Clinical Psychologist, School of Psychology, Deakin University and
  • A/Prof Michael Gordon, Child Psychiatrist, Unit Head Early in Life Mental Health Service, Monash Health.

To share experience of people using suicide safety plans we'd like to have a Blue Voices member sitting on the panel discussion.

How you can help

We're looking for a Blue Voices member who has used a suicide safety plan, and found it beneficial, to sit on the panel.

You will be asked to share your experience and answer any questions the audience may have.

Beyond Blue will support you and help you prepare for the panel with media training and clinical support.

Date: Monday 11 November

Venue: Deakin Downtown Conference Centre, Docklands VIC

Time: 9am - 1pm

To acknowledge your time, you will receive a gift voucher if you are selected.
