Beyond Blue has grown and changed since we began back in 2000. However, at the core of everything we do is our vision that all people in Australia can achieve their best possible mental health. That vision will guide us for many years into the future, but what we do, or don’t do, is driven by our Strategic Plan.
The importance of a strategic plan
Since 2000, we have had four strategic plans, each lasting five years. A strategic plan is a critical document for any organisation like Beyond Blue, because it guides all our activities – it says who we are, what we do and why we do it.
Our 2015 Strategic Plan
focuses on supporting people to speak about and manage their mental health where they live, learn, work and connect – in early childhood centres, in schools, in workplaces, in the community and around the kitchen table.
Our 2020 Strategic Plan
We need a new strategic plan from mid-2020 to set our focus and direction for the coming years.
The development of this Strategic Plan involves many parts including:
- Reflecting on the implementation of our current 2015 Strategic Plan
- Speaking with other mental health organisation and governments across Australia
- Discussions by our Board, management and staff
- Consultation with community
We have already learned valuable insights from the community through consultations done for several major projects including our Know Anxiety campaign, the development of our Policy Reform Agenda and the Beyond Blue brand refresh.
In this survey we ask you some key questions to help us get more clarity on what our next strategy focus needs to be.
This survey has now closed. Thank you to those who took the time to complete the survey and tell us what is important to you. Our Strategic Planning team are now reviewing the results.
Over the coming months we will come back to the community to make sure our thinking is on track.
We aim to have the Strategic Plan developed by the end of the year so we can move into 2020 with a focused plan for our future.
