The team at Beyond Blue has been working hard to develop robust risk assessment and management procedures based around the best and most COVID-Safe way to return to in-person events in 2021.
The wellbeing and safety of Speakers is essential and our COVID-Safe Plan ensures everyone involved in having a Beyond Blue Speaker share their story at an event is protected.
What do I need to know as a Beyond Blue Speaker?
Beyond Blue's regular volunteer accident insurance provisions remain in place, but we have been unable to secure additional insurance provisions for COVID-19. As such, we request that you sign the waiver form below acknowledging you understand this insurance exclusion.
Please sign and email the form below to firstname.lastname@example.org
We would like to assure you that as a volunteer speaker, there is no pressure to accept a speaking engagement if you are not entirely comfortable. If you choose not to participate in an in-person event, you will not be precluded from opportunities in the future.
What do I need to do to know as an event organiser?
We are happy to be back delivering speaker events in the community, and we know from Speaker feedback that they are too!
With the health, safety and wellbeing of Speakers a priority we require all event organisers wishing to host an in-person event to:
- return a signed copy of the COVID-Safe Compliance Statement below agreeing with COVID-Safe regulatory requirements in the relevant state/territory AND
- provide a summary of the COVID-Safe measures you will put in place (e.g. contact tracing, hand sanitiser etc.)
The Speaker Team cannot begin searching for an appropriate and willing speaker until the statement below is signed and returned to email@example.com
We don’t require you to follow a Beyond Blue template for your own COVID-Safe Plan, if you need advice on what a plan looks like we encourage you to visit www.safeworkaustralia.gov.au
