The Australian Government's Department of Defence (Defence) Defence Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2018-2023 focuses on increasing awareness and decreasing stigma associated with mental health and improving support for those with mental health issues.
To support the Strategy, Defence has engaged with beyondblue to commission the NewAccess Defence program for all employees of the Department of Defence.
NewAccess Defence program is only available to current employees of the Department of Defence (full and part-time Australian Defence Force and Australian Public Service personnel).
If you are not a Defence employee and would like to find out if NewAccess is available in your area, please visit the Contact a coach page

Contact a NewAccess Defence coach
NewAccess is a free and confidential service that provides six free sessions with a specifically trained NewAccess Defence coach. At your first appointment, your coach will complete an initial assessment with you and develop a program tailored to your needs.
Coaches are also well connected in the community and can point you in the right direction of other supporting groups such as employment, financial, education, housing and more.
The service is provided to all Defence personnel Australia wide, and to those serving internationally. Coaches are based in Brisbane, but accessible over the phone and various video-conferencing methods, whichever is most convenient for you.
