Hello I'm not sure if CBT is gold standard, I really don't like it personally, but I do benefit from other types of therapy.
Schema therapy, psychodynamic therapy and ACT have worked for me. I find meds also work for me only short term, for help getting through crises.
I think sometimes a holistic approach is needed, which can include therapy, and other wellness approaches .
For me, a combo of hospital stays to tweak meds or self care, being in nature, cultivating friends, and seeing a regular therapist helps, as well as adding in art and creative groups.
