I’m feeling very depressed about lockdown. I feel like I’m running out of time to meet someone to date, and just do the things that young people should be doing! I’m 26 now and starting to feel like I’m running out of time to do it work towards everything I want. Also lockdown has stopped a potential relationship from growing and that has made me really sad, especially with no end in sight

    Hi Von is Lost,

I understand how you feel, I too have this feeling sometimes that I'm losing important years of my life or experiences I should be having. I think all around the world this is being felt by many people. It's such a difficult thing for all of us.

Know you're not alone and we're all in this together. The time we may lose now, help to save lives and keep us safe. But it's still difficult to deal with when it feels like so much is out of our control.

I find when I feel this way it's helpful to find a way to be more present and enjoy the moment, rather than focus on what I wish I was doing.

What activities do you like to do to lift your spirits?

    Thinking of you

Thanks for replying. I think the fact that reminding myself that everyone is in the same boat helps. I have uni work to do, and have been trying to keep occupied crocheting and gardening, playing with my cat etc. but just waiting things out is so hard. I know lockdown is saving lives though! I sometimes struggle to feel worthy without having a partner though

    Hi Von,

I am so sorry you are feeling like this. But if it makes you feel better - I am too. I feel like I am missing out on my young years!

It helps to know that we're all feeling somewhat isolated and like we're missing out.

    Jaz.
