    Dear 😹~

OK I give up - what are they ? They look like worms standing on their tails after an extravagant lunch.

If they are worms I'll have to call in a flock of early birds.

Incidentally I didn't send the penguins to your thread, that was entirely their idea - I guess you must have an attractive personality:)

Hey, Croix, it just occurs to me - are you using a very small screen & really don't see 🦩is a Flamingo?

I don't know if they are early birds, only about how they become coloured living in the caustic soda lakes, in flocks which be have thousands of birds large. To feed, they scoop up something (that I don't recall( from the caustic soda water.

So. I imagine, you must have had a lot of drains to unclog - & the run-off has attracted the 🦩🦩🦩 in such great numbers to your berg.

    ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️to you & Mrs C

Hi dear Croixy man 🐧 Kitty 🐺 and everyone ☺

Uh oh a stray penguin surfaced but that's ok eh Croixy because I'm sure I saw a tear drop 🚿 (shower head gushing water) or should I say 💧(drop of water). I use water drops in my art which resemble tears because I love the shape and purity of the look, also I've heard an artist reveals some of their life/personality in their art. For me that'd be tears so I guess a swimming pool would be more relevant. Not all the time fortunately.

Anyhoo btt (back to topic) re the tear drop that looked quite funny you having a frozen one hanging off your tusk gee likin your new look Mr it might take off you trend setter you 😄 so I feel it's a service I did for you reviving the lonesome penguin.

Thanks matey no probs you missed my post 😊 I know it wasn't intentional you're always a very good decent man and a great communicator. I didn't know Walruses were such class acts.

So just popped in to let you and Kitty know I'm getting a lit of lol's 😅 & ☺ reading your Penguin banter. Kitty loved the Penguin formation 😂 but where's this Albatross?

Hope your days are good lovely ones that goes for everyone. Even it our hardest times there's still something good just waiting for us to find 🌞

Croixy thoughts and hope your healths holding at a reasonable level good man 🍫 oh ...bit embarrassing 😶 soz I just have to take that choccy bar back it fell out of my mouth 😲

    Go easy all 👋

Albatross? What albatross? I haven't seen any albatross? Maybe I need to carry my ☂more often?

We cannot have just one🐧. That will not do, not for the lone🐧, most certainly, so I will see if any of my herd would like to return? 😸Or else we may see some 🐧/🦩hybrids. My mind is stretching to imagine that.😸But, hey, whichever way they fly is no matter to me.😺

    *

Because I did not think to use actual 💧💧in my painting, I tried to paint some in a few. Not easy, but I thought one of my attempts at rain on a window seemed pretty good to me.😸& one of my favourite photos I took was when I was on a bus, & it had been raining, & the window was fogged. I held my SLR camera against the glass, to keep it steady in relations tot the moving bus, & using the macro lens, focused on a few raindrops. It looked so good, with the road & trees blurred against the lightly grey sky, & these raindrops, in focus, with the same scene, clearly in focus, upside down. At least I think the tiny images in the raindrops were clear - my eyesight not being very good, you know...

It is just as well the tears are not all the time - we need to come up for air, eh?

You ever try anything artsy, Croix? Even if while thinking you don't know what you're doing, or how to do it, you can fave a go, & maybe a laugh at your atempts, & maybe also discover it helps when words don't or are not enough. It can be another route for thoughts & feelings, when the words become stuck. 😸

☮️❤️to everyone (I'd like to merge the two emojis, so it would be 'peace in the heart'. That's what I mean.)

hi all. i've been on the forums here & there, just browsing threads but not responding. to respond to your comment, Croix, about Y(P)M, i love Derek. he's my favourite. that line you quoted is a classic. haven't been feeling well with gastro, since Friday (so 27th April) when i got my booster shot, sigh. maybe it's that or a bug going around, i don't know. either way it sucks.

    Dear DB~

Are you sure that 🍫 didn't fall into your mouth? I guess embarrassment does not come into it against the taste of chocolate :)

As for the teardrop, I certainly hope yours become far fewer as time goes on. I think Amy Whitehouse had one under her eye when her her husband had a suspected overdose while inside. Interesting subject.

I'm not sure about the albatross either. I do remember many years ago when we went backpacking around South Island we visited the Albatross reserve near Dunedin. They were huge! Then we say California Quail running along the tracks, they were tiny.

I like the way you say even in hard times there's something good to find, I'll have to try harder to remember that :)

    Dear mmMeKitty~

I KNEW you were a troublemaker -unicorns yet! I'm going ot need a bigger iceberg, actually I could just wish for one, couldn't I?

Your photo on the bus sounds fantastic, particularly if the little upside-down worlds came out well. It reminds me of an albatross - yes a real one, that had its picture taken be an aerial photographer on top of derricks on a vessle. This was in a museum, if you blew the photo up you could see the reflection of the boat in the bird's eye.

I'm glad there is more verse, I enjoy it.

No, I've no talent for drawing or painting. Not artistic I'm afraid. Even my avatar (with some alterations admittedly) was drawn by someone else.

    Now I understand the ☮️❤️ - a good thought

I've been wondering how you have being going, you've been a bit quiet on your thread. You had a recurring infection and I hope htat's 's now cleaned up and also you've found a better mechanic. I"m lucky wiht mine and will certainly be hanging on to him. Having someone reliable htat does not overcharge is a pretty good thing.

Are oyu back at work now? I do hope so, not just for hte $$$ but also being out and occupied works well for me, hope it does for oyu to.

And no - you'd never dump stray penguins etc on my iceberg:)

    Dear Tayla

Pleased to see you again and I'm sorry abut the gastro, I've had a Covid booster recently and it did not do anything to me, so maybe you are just unlucky. A very debilitating condition. did you take any electrolytes? I found they helped a bit with the dehydration and energy levels when I've had the same.

Yes I think in a quiet way Derek makes YM/YPM. So often he feeds straight lines to Sir Humphrey but occasionally comes out with something of his own and really shines. I guess he's the most empathetic character and maybe my favorite too.

I like Sir Humphrey, but in a different way, it is more for his command of language:

"Well, Prime Minister … one hesitates to say this but there are times when circumstances conspire to create an inauspicious concatenation of events that necessitate a metamorphosis, as it were, of the situation such that what happened in the first instance to be of primary import fraught with hazard and menace can be relegated to a secondary or indeed tertiary position while a new and hitherto unforeseen or unappreciated element can and indeed should be introduced to support and supersede those prior concerns not by confronting them but by subordinating them to the over-arching imperatives and increased urgency of the previously unrealised predicament which may in fact now, ceteris paribus, only be susceptible to radical and remedial action such that you might feel forced to consider the currently intractable position in which you find yourself."

    etc

What he means is of course "Unlucky, you should resign!"

I wish I could talk like that , I could sail though life with everyone not understanding a word but convinced they should have:)

    Hi Croix,

Yes the infection has cleared up. It's great when you find a good mechanic that doesn't overcharged, I'm lucky that there's a couple I've found that I now trust- it took a while.

There were covid cases in the office so it shut for a couple weeks but I'm back on Tue. Working does give me somewhere to go and keeps me occupied.

That's right I won't be dumping things on your ice berg as I'm sure you enjoy the peace and quiet. It would be too noisy with all those animals. I might have to be your ice berg protector.

    Hello Dear Croix...

After I read about the newsreel you watched about spaghetti growing on trees...I decided to look up more newsreels of the 50’s.....their are some fascinating, interesting and educational reels to watch...

I watch one last night, about a family migrating to NSW Australia in the 50s....Not only did I enjoy their story..but I enjoyed seeing the old cars, the fashion, the older buildings, houses and a beautiful older style church....The wife even went shopping...oh and those prices...in shillings and pence....back then a family with only the husband working...could save enough to buy their little piece of Australia.....how much things have changed....It is certainly something I would recommend to anyone to watch...

Hugs with my kind thoughts and care dear Mr Croix..

    Dear Grandy~

Yes some of those olds clips are interesting. I do remember one the BBC used as a station break (no ads of course) which was "London to Brighton in 4 minutes" (some 130 k) taken with a camera on the front of the engine.

    https://youtu.be/TtiWQkW0v0o

Real travel was of course a lot slower, and unfortunately many carriages did not have loos, which made one look forward ot the next stop:)

    Dear mmMekitty + dreaded lurgy~

Well I'm sorry to hear that , Covid or Flu (says me from a sensible distance😷)?

If you don't mind me asking why are they painting a shoe glue substitute on your neck? Actually I probably could use some myself today, I had a procedure and took the bandage off my arm too early:(

Apart from that I'm OK and Mrs C is in the pink. I'm in front to a toasty wood fire and Sumo Cat is in his usual place by my left elbow being "busy". Mrs C and I have just been watching an old TV show on DVD. We don't get out to the cinema nowadays as it is prudent in my condition not to. Watching a DVD together has become a substitute, and a good one. We enjoy the show and each other's company.

Plus of course we do not end up like we used to at that well known Scottish restaurant, so we are saving money too :) Sumo will be pleased, more for deluxe cat-food.

What have you been up to apart from cooking furry lasagna?

OOO This Dreaded Lurgy! ( cat emojis are insufficient & totally inadequately pictorialize how I feel! My tiny kitty nose feel like a hippo's, so stuffed with gooey-gooby stuff. Blowing my nose makes no difference to how full it feels.

I phoned my helpers, & my home helper offered to get me more lemons, & the honey & she also got me some minty throat lozenges & (surprise) chocolate, & made a a few serves of chicken soup, home made!

So, I get a little relief with lemon & honey drink, & the lozenges, & walking about my flat helps too - wish I could sleep walk! That, of-course, is the most difficult. My nose gets so full up while I am lying down, it throbs & it gets thick back there, feeling like it could block my airway completely.

Ha, I still manage to write a bit here!

I said to my helper, how nice she is, & she disagreed. I had to object. Doing these things, not asking to be refunded the cost, on her day weekend off, she has shown me she has a warm & generous heart, & compassionate nature, & she attributes to her mother & grandmother, saying this was how she was raised by them. Then she said she would phone me tomorrow.

    *

As for stuff that smells like shoe glue, that is the stuff that comes in tiny vials or tubes, & is for the prevention of heart worm, (I think...memory uncertain), & vet recommended. Us puddy cats need all the care we can get - just not one that smells so horrid!

I may have thought it would be easier than giving a tablet, & receiving teeth! I hardly ever got that stuff only on Mekitty's neck - open the vial, & she'd be off - 💨dashing away!

    *

Got my lurgy Thursday, did I say, got my lurgy Thursday, while out getting an MRI on my back, then shopping a bit, & lunch at a nearby shopping centre, & then back to my local chemist, then home...

I'm not doing much, not without being able to wear a mask. Sometimes I will have to take risks or live like old Howard Hughes.

Lucky I found you guys here,😺or I'd be talking more to myself than ever!

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️- another pile for Sumo, when wants to play David Attenborough & needs a hide to look out from, & spot the local wildlife behaving naturally.😹

    Dear mmMekitty and Grandy

I remember watching one of David Attenborough's earliest TV shows, Zoo Quest in 1954. Surprisingly parts of series 2, (1956 onward) can be found on YouTube.

There are also on YouTube his underwater contemporaries, Hans and Lotte Hass who came to UK TV slightly before the more famous Jacques-Yves Cousteau

It was certainly a revelation to someone whose whose horizons were fixed in Britain. On watching a couple of clips now I find things were more robust in those days

Good morning Croix....remember how Seinfeld began with these guys having an idea about a TV show ..."about nothing". well thought it about time I contacted Forum somewhere, anywhere really just to keep contact and my name on file or whatever in case they write me off as Lost In Space .

This post is really about nothing you see, so I thought your thread the obvious choice to place it.

In leafing through the entries admittedly mostly on "My Threads"..{ nothing jumps out at me just now that I could answer or comment on or offer advice or help, so I'm a bit useless to them I'm afraid.

..I haven't read much of the newer contributors at all which is probably my loss. I might see someone I there I identify with completely, or can help but I feel a bit lazy these days. I sort of tend to stick to the old contributors I've known for a long time, like a pair of comfy old slippers you know?

{ see I told you it was a post about nothing) I am gradually getting through the withdrawal period from adrenaline overload, but how sweet it was...that adrenalin is a marvellous, powerful drug. Can you grow it, like that other forbidden natural healing herb?? My chemist doesn't sell it in bottles.

anyway have fun with all your new buddies on your "ice berg" they seem so familiar with.

Has the Carpenter dropped by lately? Probably too shy...he just liked to walk along the sand with you on dusk after all and contemplate the state of the world....speaking of many things like shoes and ships and sealing wax, and cabbages and kings! Perhaps I am the Carpenter, reincarnated? now there's a thought.

    take care Croix......x

    Dear Ms Carpenter~

Yes walking along the shore chatting away, relaxed and in no hurry - a very pleasant concept.

Actually if you could talk about nothing for a full post I'd suspect you should enter politics:) However it's not the case, you do talk of things, including important ones. I liked your post in the ageing thread where there are less around for you to see yourself reflected by them. Though actually your image of yourself is fine

Actually that post belies your words, you do talk with new people as well as us 'comfortable slipper' types.

That adrenaline rush can't be there all the time, you'd overload! So the fact it peaks and lessens -until next time of course - is really just right. Despite being an expert in your field it also means you have to rest, reduce to a less demanding pace before you are ready for the next episode.

You are of course a welcome guest on my iceberg whenever the fancy takes you (but don't trip over the penguins)

Really, Moonstruck, Croix & everyone, I enjoy the wandering sort-of aimlessly posts. These are relaxing. Very good for when I am cranky or grumpy & could do with a little slow-down time.

It's realy nice out here, when the neighbours are quiet - except I am on edge for 'the next time' & what that might be like.

You know, Croix, it just may happen in the next few days, your iceberg could be the warmest place from the west-east middle line on down.

I hope everyone is keeping warm.

Hi there Mr Croixy 🐧 Moon 🌜kitty 🐺 Grandy 👩‍❤️‍👩 and all your many friends 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦 reading and here ☺

I'm exhausted finding all those emojis so I "might"... being the operative word post with out anymore emojis. Huh...you fell for that didn't ya...as if 🤣...hey that was an accident..my hand jerked being in such shock at the thought of not doing anymore...sigh 😧 what can you do...

Croixy amongst many here and I imagine in rl (real life) I want you to know I have a great respect for you. The way you talk with enormous respect to people, your wisdom sense of humour knowledge and communication skills and a big heart amongst many other attributes including using emojis that gives me such a warm buzz impresses me no end.

Thank you Croixy man for how you are and what you do good man.

I've been reading often here and getting many giggles and smiles thanks everyone for such a varied yes Moon cruisy place you created. Well said too about being similar to Seinfeld, couldnt stand that show to start. Seeing ads with the masterful Kramer drew me in. How he shakes his extra bit of hair and slides into the room let alone his wicked natural talent for comedy. Sadly I heard he as many people that make it to high fame fall victim to alcohol and drug abuse. Truly hope if its true that he's recovered well. Elaine was brilliant too. George played a good part. Didnt think Seinfeld was much chop as an actor. The supporting actors held him tho his stand up comedy was very good I thought.

Umm...tried hard to stop the 🦄 unicorns after sharpening their struth ..what are they...horns I guess, piercing holes through your iceberg but must say the pweddy fountains look striking.

It's ok though cause I'm quite handy with 🛠 tools - borrowed Grandys although I did have to chisel actually considering becoming a sculptor now and again it's ok again because I stuck bubble gum between your broken iceberg that served a double purpose cause I blew bubbles to keep it afloat so as you can see no need for penguin life jackets...

No no...really...no need to thank me...all in a days work...sooo payment will be graciously accepted with many 🍫 choccy bars asap.

Hoping your health both mentally/physicallys holding dear friend. I have concerns about how you are. Very grateful to your lovely sounding Mrs Croixy 💓

Hope your days are good everyone. Even if we can find one happy memory or thought it's something to build on ☺

😺Here's one: Choceconomy (Don't listen to my text-to-speech reader, getting the pronunciation all wrong. It's CHOC-ec'on-a-ME! 🍫(mor you like chocolate, the more important is the emphasis of individual syllables. The example here is for what DB might choose. 😺
