Hi Kanga, just wondering whether there are people in the cafe who haven't been posting and that's why it's lonely for you, well what's going to happen next year, any predictions?

Hi Kanga, thanks so much for your kind compliment Peter, but hey, what you are forgetting is that you have stimulated and helped other people on the site.

It doesn't matter what we say at times, that's how we want to be, everyone is the same, you're no different to anyone else.

Peter don't' feel as though you have failed, you only fail when you feel as though you have failed, the perfect recipe for depression.

There are days when I can't express the words I want to say, I'm stuck for words, doesn't that happen to all of us, absolutely.

See you tomorrow, I'm about to log-off.

    Geoff.

Hi Kanga (and anyone else visiting the cafe tonight),

Righto well Mr Kanga you sound in great need of a strong cuppa. I'm doing a quick pop in but no way could I miss the pain in your words today. This time of year can be so bloody hard.

I'll sit with you for a bit. Nurse my cuppa and give you a reminder that you are good enough! Chocolate helps too.

No failures here. None. Just a chocoholic fox and a roo in need of TLC.

Hi Dan, must feel good, today is your last day at school, always a great feeling.

Sometimes Kanga there are times when we have to look after ourselves first then our kids come second, and in your situation don't forget that.

I think one of my biggest disappointments was learning that Father Xmas wasn't real, I was only young but 2 of my mates told me on the day before Xmas.

    Hi Everyone,

Just popping in to say "Goodaye" and wishing everyone a bit of cheer.

Dan I am wondering what you would like to be in your present this Christmas?

For me, it might be a puppy! My husband would dislike that immensely. Ha. Ha.

I have only just realised it is December!

Kanga that is a great story about the cubby house. Our Dad built us a cubby house, apparently someone complained to the local council because it was too large! Thankfully members of the cancel thought it was excellent Dad had build us the cubby house so there was no issue in the end.

Cheers to you all from Dools

Welcome azzdog. This is just a space to hang out. Consider it a virtual coffee shop if you want. Imagine you are sitting at one table, and other people from beyond blue at other tables, eating and drinking, entering and exiting at different times.

Right now, I am having a coffee. Can I share your table?

And you can tell me about the first album listened to?

    Hi Aaron,

Welcome to the virtual café! Like Tim mentioned this is a place to hang out and have a "chat" with people.

Tim mentioned the first album you listened to, I don't recall the first, but I really liked Meatloaf's "Bat out of Hell". It came with a poster that Mum actually let me put up on the wall in the toilet room for some strange reason!

Conversations flip about on this thread rather quickly and randomly at times, so don't be surprised by that!

Cheers to you and all from Dools

Oh okay no worries yeah take a seat haha
The first album I listened to? Gee that’s a horribly good question. Does it have to the first album or my favourite? Because if I had to guess the first one I listened to it would be “The Beatles 1967/70”. It is a greatest hits album with the highlights of the post Rubber Soul music.
I remember listening to it on my old stereo system. Simpler times they were.

    Hey Dools,

Long time no chat. Good to hear from you again.

I must say that I don’t know Meatloafs music that well. But I know that album because they used to play on the radio all the time back in the day.

welcome to all the new faces in the Beyond Blue Coffee Shope . Where you can check in for a coffee any time you please but never leave. like the hotel California. just joking pll its a some tie fun place to sit and chill from the hussel and bussel of every one pulling out their hair. or yours.

Beware the dreaded batted pudding hurler who throws pudding batter at someone to start a food fight and leaves the coffee in a real mess for me to clean.

Don't mind the Beatles stuff. But I have to be in the right mood.

Did you get it on CD or record?

(Not a fan of meatloaf. Sorry)

I have 2 first albums. If that is possible. The first album was rock around the clock which someone got in the 70s. But the first one I bought myself was David Lee Roth eat'em and smile. And I got it on cassette! Would make copies so that I would not damage the original.

Qnd you are right about easier times.

Hi Azzdog and everyone else who pops in here for a virtual drink and eats.

Music - love music. Love the Beatles and Meatloaf. Though must confess to being very eclectic with my music. Since I found folk music back in the mid 70s, I left popular culture behind. These days more inclined to listen to classical. Also, while I used to dislike opera intensely, you will sometimes find it resonating through our home or car. Did you ever like the Stones Aaron?

What about others and their music?

Thanks for the 🎁 Dan! Woohoo, last day at school. Does that mean no more school or just the end for this year?

Kanga, just love your Pav!! Awesome stuff. By the way, one of batted puddings hit me in the face. Taken me all day to clean it up.

Great to have you back Mrs Dools. You've been missed.

Wave to everyone else - won't mention you by name because I might miss someone out.

This time of the afternoon is a little late for coffee for me. Does anyone have something else, e.g. peppermint tea, green tea?

    Hey Tim,

I have it on CD. I don't buy records. They are too expensive and impractical for me.

I'm not really a fan of Meatloaf either.

If you wanted to know what my favourite album was... well that is difficult. It depends on my mood. If I'm in a jovial mood I tend to go towards "The Who Sell Out" by The Who. If I am in a melancholy mood I go for "Brighter Than A Thousand Suns" by Killing Joke. It really depends but those two stand out more than others.

    To Pamela,

I must confess at not being a Rolling Stones fan. I am a huge Beatles and Who fan but the Stones have never done it for me. I'm not sure why that is haha. I still think they've written some amazing songs though ("Paint It Black", "Jumpin' Jack Flash", "19th Nervous Breakdown" to name a few).

    To Pamela,

Hope you enjoy the Celtic music tonight! I’m hoping to join a Celtic music group playing guitar soon.

    To Tim

Pete Townshend from The Who is a guitar idol for me. He may not be the most technically perfect guitarist, he more than made up for it by writing some of the greatest songs I’ve ever heard.
