Hi all I love the flow of conversation here.

Places to go: I am not sure probably to nice inland river or island in protected waters somewhere.I have been invited to business conference in Rome on Acute Kidney Injury in late April so if I get time for sightseeing I may share it. Having a few problems trying to organise it so I hope things turn out that I do go. Government red tape you just have to wait!

Queensland Humidity: yes I've been feeling it moreso than usual and am wondering if it would be better to move further south.

Fun games: my favourite over the years was probably jacks or knuckle-bones. Apart from standard games that give the brain a bit of a workout. I'm now into gardening and trying to create an edible garden, and from that making preserves to keep for when things get tough.

    Irene.

    >What was your favorite toy growing up?

Toys. Toys! Sheer Luxury! We were allowed to play with a handful of gravel (which was actually our breakfast) on way to work down pit.

@Irene - Welcome to the Cafe. The conversation goes where it goes. Ebbs and flows. The weather is a bit painful isn't it. Good luck with the edible garden. Hope you don't have problem with possums. Can I ask about your link to the conferene? Just curious.

@Croix - If that was brekky, you had a new toy each day? (I also googled the skit (?) you mentioned, was the gravel hot or cold?)

Hi All, I posted this quote on another thread but I thought would post it here,

'Is it OK not to be OK'

    That’s right Geoff.

I hope everyone’s long weekend has been ok, if you get one that is, if you don’t you deserve the penalty rates given to you. I have personally been enjoying some much needed time off 💙❤️

    Hi everyone ☺

Wolfy I have every sympathy with your son dropping something on his foot.

Thanks for the welcome back. You and our beautiful Grandy got me back 🤝 ☺

Irene a trip to Rome sounds amazing hope you can swing it.

Geoff I've heard people here saying this and I can see the sense in ...'Is it OK not to be OK' because we need to kinda go with the flow to a point anyway but at the same time if we're not proactive the healing process can considerably slow and pain come back if we don't learn to manage it imo ☺

Glad Jacko you had a good rest.

So I had a female Kojak moment... the difference being I have hair in several patches...so what's the go you may be thinking ... I cut my hair, clearly after several yrs I havent mastered it 😆.. my philosophy although the bald patches are enough to have a breakdown over 😖 hair grows back ...😨

Have a lovely day peeps and plenty of 😊 it's proven to pick the mood up smiling releases endorphines. Even smile by yourself I've tried it, it works.

    Teerah 👋

Hi there Everyone! New members are welcome to post!

Hi DB - Welcome back! Try getting a hairdresser to do it next time! Don't

Hi Geoff - I think sometimes it is ok not to be ok.

Hi Jackson - That's a good thing you got a rest. What are penalty rates?

Hi Irene - You're going to Rome?! Nice! I feel a bit envious.

Hi Spitfire - What are you doing looking at a computer at 1:15? You need to get sleep.

Anyone got anything I could learn on Guitar? I gotta learn more songs. I made some peanut butter cake. I hope you like it!

    Hello everyone,

Just got back from psychiatrist... experimenting with medication to get the right mix. According to wife temp is 36-40, depending on where I live, and feels worse than that. Waiting on rain.

@Geoff - Yes it is OK. People ask me how I am and I tell the truth to those I know.

@DB - hello again. No hairdressing tip from me. Sorry!

@Spitfire/@Dan - if my cats wakes me at stupid hours and I cannot sleep, I will look at PC also.

@Dan - what level are you at? and what sort of music? Sure there would be stacks on youtube?

    HI Everyone

Due to the heat I'm taking a brief break from the grindstone job of folding and collating documents for an organisation - joint project with Gray my other half who does the printing.

Hi Tim - Know what you mean about possums because we had them live all over the last place we lived at Deagon, under the balcony, on the outer laundry walls, on top of the air conditioners in any windows! But here it's ok. The garden is at the opposite side of the property to the creek where the trees are. We get wildlife of all kinds here. Turkey, Hare, Dragon-like lizard, honey eaters, kookaburras, Lorrikeets and many more. Glad that things are going well with your Psych.

Hi Teerah - Think things will go ok in preparation for Rome. I just need to rebook the flights and KDIGO will happily pay for the flights and most of the accommodation. Meanwhile wait for the paperwork from Births & Marriages followed by the passport office. When I expressed interest in this conference on Acute Kidney Injury, it was only the subject that was of interest because I am representing patients with this condition with Qld Health to plan better care. It wasn't until I was invited that I realised that this is where the conference was - OMG! Given all of talk about Italian food from a few of you; it will be interesting to see the difference between Australian Italian and Italian Italian! Bruschetta is a favourite hot or cold.

HI Geoff - If it wasn't ok to not be ok. I can guarantee one thing. I would not be here! LOL!

With all of this talk about food I think I had better have a fresh lunch from the garden of lettuce tomato and the first home-grown Apple Cucumber; and maybe a quick dip in the pool to combat the heat - have no air con to save money.

    Irene.

Yep, new mountain bike as a combined gift from my family and H, then just the two of us have a nice day planned on Saturday. We’re getting into a tough few weeks right about now with my brothers anniversary so I’m holding onto my birthday a little bit I guess a bit of distraction and something good to be celebrating.

    Hey all ☺

Dan thanks for welcome back ☺

No no no I've saved hundreds of $ cutting my own hair and mostly it's not bad 😆 but then..

Wolfy thanks matey and no hair tips 😀

Paul you're lovely to people ☺ thanks for your kind words matey. Same goes

Jacko birthday happies man, the bike sounds awesome. Even if you can't for a while something to look forward to.

Keypi hiya ☺ I like trivia " humans having the same bite strength as labradors"

Also hyenas have the strongest jaws in the animal world

Paul struth he must be ok for $ to knock back 31,000,000 😨

Great memories of my great Dad use to take us kids to the flicks we use to see a few Bonds and Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory.

Use to have to stand for the National anthem in NZ.

I'd think they'd lose $ at theatres not having half time at the kiosk.

    Enjoy your days peeps 👋

    Hi everyone!

@Jackson - how long til the baby is due? And I am sure you will both be excellent parents.

@DB - didn't know that you were a nurse. How long were you doing that ft? And Geoff lost me also about the Hawks. I will let him answer you and we will both know :)

I don't have any more useless facts yet. But I might think up a question for everyone to answer.

@Paul - I have an app on my tablet called overdrive. It allows me borrow books online from the library. In electronic format. Stacks of resources there on mindfulness. Is basically all the libraries in my area combined.

Kids swimming tomorrow and I have a visions day to attend. It is a planning thing.

    Have a good evening all.

Hi DB, what I mean by 'is there a hawk hovering over us', because there must be a flock over me' is that a hawk watches for its prey, something to pick on, but I'm too heavy and will soldier on.

Hope you can work out what this means.

    Geoff.

AFL smallwolf, I play in the vfl comp.

I used to be on the list at an AFL club but I didn’t get a game with them, never got picked and ended up in the reserves every weekend, ended up getting delisted and permanently bumped down to reserves and told i’ll never get senior game, to put it simply. I gave it a good crack though, pretty happy with the level I’m at anyway, not the highest, and not what I dreamed of all those years but still pretty good. 👍🏻

Hi Everyone, has anyone seen these quotes for a bit of humour:

-'One small crack does not mean that you are broken. It means you were put to the test and you didn’t fall apart'

    and this one

'If you die in an elevator, be sure to push the “Up” button'

-'Do twins ever realise that one of them is unplanned', I'll have to ask my twin. Ha Ha!
