    Hi all

Mind if I just plonk myself down here?

Hot beverage on a hot day? Absolutely! It's meant to cool you down as Dools said. I heard it brings our inside body temperature to the same as outside, hence cooling us. Who knows. Having said that I've enjoyed an iced coffee last couple of days.

    Hi CMF, Monkey and All,

Hope your weekend is cruising along okay.

I've not had much energy today...maybe I will find some tomorrow!

I watched a movie on Netflix today about elephants in Africa and a human romance. Filled in some time!

Cheers to you all from Dools

    Hi Quirky,

I've not relaxed in a bean bag for decades! Mum bought me a bright purple vinyl one when I was a kid. I didn't even like purple, my sister did. We used to take the bean bags outside and hang out in them with our friends.

Sounds like you were watching an older movie. I don't recall that title. Katherine Hepburn was a lovely actress.

Maybe we could share favourite movies here. No doubt we actually have a thread for that already, but sharing here could be fun.

I'm not actually sure if I have a favourite, think it changes with my moods!

    Cheers from Dools

    Hi Everyone,

It is a nice cool morning here where we live, the birds are singing and I am going to push myself out the door later for a walk.

This morning I am attending a Thank You morning tea for one of the volunteer places I attend. The lovely people hosting it always make sure they have something there that is gluten free for me!

Hope you all have a good day.

    Cheers from Dools

    Hi Paul and Everyone,

Thanks for your comments. Volunteer work over the years has provided many amazing opportunities and experiences.

A couple of the more interesting rolls have been helping with Riding for the Disabled and my time with the local Country Fire Service.

I enjoy my time at the home for the elderly, at the Op Shop and here on the forum as well. These roles all helop me feel better about life and myself!

Hope you are doing okay Paul.

    Cheers from Dools

    Howdy!

Did someone say birds? Animals? Food? Birds are my animals. I am particularly fond corvids and cockatoos/parrots.

I voted in the bird thingy - for the Australian raven. Sadly I could only vote once :(

Dropping in to say hi. Been a while.

i am starving! I need a coffee and a sandwich before the gym.............. **tummy rumbles**

Hi All, I don't live in NSW or Qld so I can't help you, I'm sorry.

Heaters on one day, then air conditioners on the next, that's Melbourne weather.

    Hi Paul and Geoff,

Latest update is that fires are yet to be contained. 1,000's evacuated, many to shelters.

As Paul mentioned, if possible, pls let us know you are safe if you live in effected areas.

    Praying for everyone's safety 🙏

Hi CMF, I am ok, struggling with a couple things at the moment money wise. Not sure what we are going to do, it’s stressful. I posted about it on my thread.

I’m grateful I have a house and a safe community away from fires though.

Hi All, my deepest and heartfelt condolences to all of you who have been affected and decimated in these terrible bushfires in NSW and QLD.

I also want to thank all the Fire Briquette men who risk their lives and to those wonderful people who help out supplying refreshments to them.

Situations like this are not what we would ever hope for.

My sincere apologies to everyone who are involved.

    Please take care.

    Geoff.

Echoing the sentiments about the fires. Hopes and prayers for all involved. I have seen a few photos. Looks scary. :(

My friends husband is over there helping from over here in the West. He is a high ranking fireman.

He is very cool. He has been saving wildlife as well.
