    Welcome to the forums and thank you for sharing your story with us here. It takes a lot of courage to reach out to our online community and we’re really glad that you have.

    We are sorry to hear that lockdown and unsupportive friends have got you feeling so low that you are questioning your purpose and that you don't feel like living anymore. We understand how hard it can be to sit with such strong emotions, so we want to remind you that all life is important, including yours and you have significant strength and deserve to live a happy life. 

    If you would like to talk to someone, the Beyond Blue Support Service is available 24/7 by phone on 1300 22 4636 or on Webchat 1pm-12am AEST on our website:  One of our friendly counsellors will be able to talk through these feelings with you and can offer support, advice and referrals.

    It could also be worth getting in touch with Kids Help Line. They are a confidential and anonymous, telephone and online counselling service specifically for young people aged 25 and under.

    I still very much struggle with maintaining my depression but over the years I have found a few things that have really helped me to feel much better.

    1. Sometimes listening to what your body wants you to do is the best thing. Of course, this only refers to doing things like allowing yourself some extra sleep or taking some time off of work (if you are able to) to rejuvenate when everything in the world feels too hard.
    2. Journalling!!! This can look so different from person to person but writing down your thoughts can help differentiate between those thoughts that are valid and those that are not. It also allows you to realise that thoughts aren't fact.
    3. Talk to the people around you. Getting support is hard and it can make you feel less than, but remember that you would never think less of someone you love experiencing something like depression so they won't do that to you.
    4. See a psychologist - this is so important to find some incredible tips that are more unique to you plus it gives you someone to talk to about all of your thoughts.
