    Hi Hanna,

Sorry to read you are doing it so tough.

I do have a husband here. We live in separate rooms. He does as he likes. He controls just about everything, he rarely talks, but at least he is here and I am not totally alone.

I don't know what situation is worse: to actually live alone or to live with someone and still feel alone.

I also don't know why people are so darn rude and don't include other people into their lives. I have even been to Churches where people have formed a circle and I have been standing on the outside.

I have been in my work place for 1 1/2 years, wear a name tag and some staff who request information from me still ask me what my name is and I see them every weekend.

Hope you have some success next week with the lap top and also the letter.

    Hi. Paws

Thank you for your kindness. I hope you feel better soon. Staying in bed isn't good for you...

I have trouble holding this tiny phone and typing on a tiny keyboard it's tiring with my eyesight. So please excuse me if replies sometimes aren't good.

There's nothing on in town as we're surrounded by covid. I don't know how long music will continue which is why I need the computer to use zoom.

I just need help with a few things in the house that I can't do. Housing doesn't offer any help.

My friend used to help me but she's now stuck in the mountains due to covid and doesn't see me any more anyway. I think she has self esteem issues as she chooses such dreadful partners. We used to have a weekly cuppa it was nice and Sam loves her.

I'm going to hand write the letter today and hope I can get my. Laptop back soon.

I find I'm not very hungry these days but I wanted to lose weight!

Going to take Sam out. Thank you for your help. Hugs 💖

    Hi Dools

I met a lovely woman years ago at a dance class. She'd been married to a diplomat and had lived in Paris for years with him.

I said how wonderful that must have been and she told me it was the loneliest time of her life because she had to attend functions with him and could tell nobody what a loveless marriage it was.

Just shows... When you think people have everything...

I have found churches are the worst places to meet people! They're so cliquey.

I came here planning to volunteer at the hospital as a nursing assistant but covid has stopped that happening at all. It's OK. I just miss phone chats with the friend who became abusive and now my other friend has some problem with my friend who teaches me music. Beats me!

We'll have to keep each other company here! Sorry your work is like that. I really don't know what is wrong with people.

    Hugs 😷🌼🌿🌷

It's not lack of friends that's bothering me at the moment it's the cost of lawn maintenance as this is a quarter acre block and requires a ride on. And the computer. I have my lovely music teacher friendto talk to on Thursday.

    Hi Hanna

Short reply as I’m still in bed. Lack of sleep due to gale force winds overnight again.

It’s written into our tenancy agreement that we need to maintain the yard, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get assistance if you need it. My neighbor has an organisation come in regularly and do hers at reduced cost as she is older. You may be eligible too. If you’re over 65 and need help it’s all done through My Aged Care now. You ring or register online and they then organise to do a needs assessment with you. It may just be help with the yard you need, it may be other things like changing light bulbs. Anyway not sure if that helps but I hope it does. It’s called Commonwealth Home Support Program.

    Hugs, Katy

Thanks Katy. I'm under 65 so unfortunately I don't qualify for any assistance 😕

Am going to write to the local member and see if he is prepared to ask housing to at least mow it sometimesdue to my health issues.

    Rest up 🌷

Hanna I don’t think they’re strict on age, it’s more needs based. So wouldn’t hurt to give them a call or register online if you have the energy to do so, I realise you have a lot going on.

Thanks Katy I'll definitely look them up.

Went for a long walk as the weather was nice and fresh. Have cleaned the shower and started to clean up the fridge and I've typed the letter just need to check it.

Gosh getting stuff done makes me feel better! It's all from Jordan Peterson telling young men to tidy up their rooms!!! 😊

Sat in the park with Sam and had a cherry chic chip ice cream it was yummy!

    Sam ate the cone.

Hugs for you tomorrow Katy 💕

Thanks Katy I checked out their website and realised I'd done it before sometime - they don't accept me because I'm not old enough and my health problems are not considered an official disability (even though they affect me considerably!)

Thank you very much anyway. See how you can help people with a social work degree?!!!! Good luck tomorrow kid!

    Hello Hanna,

That ice cream sounded yum... I'm sure Sam loved the cone...

I ended up back in bed for most of the day... I'm up now which is an improvement...

Woofa has a new thing to be scared of... it's no longer the open manhole in the laundry... it's now the far end of the dining alcove... he doesn't even go close... he just stands by the kitchen bench stamping his front feet & occasionally barking at it... I swear he is going dotty with old age...

I'm about to watch the repeat of Insiders... I watched it this morning but didn't take any of it in...

    Stay warm

Sam fell into some mud today up to his chin! So I've had to bath him after getting home and I'm drying him off with the heating on. We're both really tired! We had a lovely day though.

I'm not sure I like the military on the streets in the city... What do you think Paws?

Hello Dear Hanna, Paws, Katey, Dools, and all...

Both Woofs and little Same made me laugh today, dogs are so cute when their naughty😂..Hanna you reminded me of when my dogs escaped the yard and went across to the cows...and Kya decided to have a good bath with wet cow droppings...boy was she stinky with wet sticky cow droppings all over her...They are mischievous aren’t they..just like little children.....not a care in the world except for having fun....

Hanna...I haven’t experienced the military in the streets..but I think it might make me feel safe...

Hanna....Please lovely friend...Maybe a nice early night cuddling up to your gorgeous Sam..is in the cards tonight...

Suppose to get rain and strong winds tomorrow, Today was beautiful and sunny....The perfect weather for Sam to cool of in a mud bath...

Much love dear Hanna, Paws, Katey, Dools, and everyone...

Hello Hanna, Grandy, Katy, Dools, wave to everyone,

Hanna we had the army working with the police here in Vic a couple of lockdowns ago... I'm fine with it... My cousin was in quarantine at the time & she said when they did the compliance check they were wonderful as they stood a safe distance from the front door & answered all her little boys questions & encouraged him when he told them what he had been doing since going into quarantine... I do think the pollies need to stress the army are there to help the community & keep reminding everyone of how they helped during the fires.

Well done Sam... they say mud baths are good for the skin & people do actually pay for them.. so clever boy getting one for free...

It was a lovely sunny day here, but now it is bucketing down... & the power has just gone off

So glad to hear you had a lovely day out... I think Grandy's suggestion of an early night for you is a good one...

    Hi paws

I've wussed out this arvo it's about 1 degree here and I'm listening to music and Sam is snuggled up on the couch. It actually would be lovely walking but yesterday was a long day.

I imagine it's difficult for the police and military as they have to be friendly and courteous as well as making sure people do the right thing. I can understand that people from other countries where the military is not friendly would find it frightening though, seeing soldiers in the streets.

I'm going to have an easy dinner and see what's on the Abc tonight I think it's the show on women in parliament so should be interesting.

How's the weather down your way? Hugs 😊🎶🌿🐕🎼🍄

    Hello Hanna, wave to all,

I think staying snuggled up indoors sounds very wise given that temperature... little Sam would turn into a pupsicle if he tried his usual swim... it's not that cold here... about 10 deg though the wind is freezing... there is a hazardous weather warning for here that applies from later this evening until late morning tomorrow... so I'm all set up for the power to go off as usual.

Well Woofa hasn't gone dotty with his foot stamping & barking at the dining area... there is a mouse in my house... I have the old wooden mouse traps but I hate using them only slightly less than I hate using poisons... I will ring the local store tomorrow & see if they stock the mouse traps that catch them in a box so they can be released outside... if not I will have to be brave & use the wooden trap.

This afternoon I had a lovely chat on the phone with my elderly relative & then chatted even longer with her son...

Yes I'm hoping to watch MisRepresented tonight... power supply allowing...

    Stay warm

    Belly rubs for Sam

    Hi Sleepy,

Sorry I'm not usually on BB for very long - I write a post and go off again. I was watching the show on women in parliament on the ABC which is worth watching, and I've been listening to an excellent talk on utube.

I hope things are improving for you. Looking forward to a properly winter day here tomorrow, I don't like summer, so I'm very happy to have some brisk weather!!!! Cheers.

Hello Hanna, Sleepy, wave to everyone,

Well neither my local store nor the Bunnings in big town have humane mice catchers... so I've bought two different sorts off ebay... hopefully they should arrive by early next week... I looked at my old style snap mouse traps but I can't bring myself to use them... hopefully they will arrive sooner than later as Woofa is not happy about the mouse being here & has been loudly barking at the general area he thinks it is.

The forecast wild weather didn't arrive after all... but we have had so much rain I've had to tip out the excess water from my potted plants as they haven't been able to drain all the water through in the time...

What did you think last night's episode of misrepresented... I was surprised at how some of them did not hold back on saying what they thought of one of their colleagues... I'm not sure if I'm more surprised they spoke that way or surprised that the ABC legal team let it through... I did like where they touched on not only needing women, but people from all areas to make it far more representative...

I hope you have good news about your laptop.

    Hugs

    Hi paws

Strong winds and sleet gre today really icy. I. Know what you mean about catching mice I can't bear hurting things!

I missed some of the show last night but did see the last part and yes it was interesting what they came out with! I wonder if it's repeated anywhere?

The laptop is just getting too old to work properly I've bought a tiny tablet to use via Bluetooth and was on the phone for hours to optus to get my plan changed.

Running behind with music practice! Am too busy listening to jordan peterson and the school of life on utube!!!

Stay snug there. Glad you had some nice chats with relatives in the city!

That's fine Sleepy I was just covering myself by letting you know that I am not always here and able to reply.

I've had others report they're being ignored when in fact I haven't been here or I've had computer problems or whatever and it's been unpleasant to have to explain to mods that I haven't ignored them I just haven't been here or have accidentally missed their post. I have sight problems and have to read from a tiny mobile phone screen!

I wasn't saying you'd done this I was just letting you know that I am not ignoring anyone if I don't reply.

    Cheers 🌷

Hi Hanna that's ok of course but I think that's best left to the mods to deal with as this makes me feel uncomfortable about my comments and attempts, and maybe makes reporting seem like a negative thing. If ppl feel left out and u feel upset to explain that, maybe best to speak to the mods on that one, as it's a bit hard for me here to feel like i've done somthing wrong, and no one is asking anyone to reply, i notice a few times i've said hello and felt that i've received an explanation that you can't reply.

I think best to leave these discussions about moderation off the threads as it's stressful for me personally. . Hope u have a lovely day.

Hello Hanna, Sleepy, wave to everyone,

Well I laid down for a nanna nap at 1 & woke up 7hrs later... I must have needed it as I didn't get woken by Woofa's barking at where he thinks the mouse is... which is becoming so constant I may have to resort to the mouse traps I have just to get some peace.

Despite losing the arvo to sleep I actually did a little housework this morning... Yay!!... I did it in small bursts so not a lot achieved... but I'm pleased I managed what I did. I also managed to put the bin out without the cross country adventures I had last time... not trying to do it in the dark makes such a difference... lol...

    Hi Grandy paws and everyone

Just popping by briefly. Have a lot to deal with here as my friend here's partner is sick in hospital suddenly with heart problems and I have an old friend up the coast who is very ill with a terrible cancer that is destroying her muscles and the lining of her abdomen. I have known her for decades. So have been talking to a mutual friend also up there about how to help her. I have promised a daily phone call so she has someone to talk to as she lives alone and my other friend is getting very tired trying to help her as her husband is also sick!

So a lot of phoning around today.

Grandy I'm glad your furs are washed and clean. Paws it sounds like you needed the sleep!

    Take care everyone hugs 🐾🍀🎶🐕

Hi dear paws and Grandy and Dools and everyone

Thank you for your kind thoughts. I am fine my friend and I were working out how to best give our sick friend practical help which is what she needs living alone and so sick. I may see if I can stay with her for a while but it depends if I can take Sam there.

I've been watching the Olympics which have been fantastic and listening to some wonderful talks on my tablet - I just link it to my phone with Bluetooth.

We had a lovely sunny morning here and I put out all the washing and now it's turned grey and cold! 😗

I had a friend over yesterday and have been having a long chat to an old friend where I used to live and am now getting a late lunch.

I hope you are all good. Hugs 🙂🌸🐕💕🎶🍀

Hello Hanna, Paws, Grandy, Sleepy and All Reading,

I've not popped in for a few days. Hanna sorry to read you have friends who are doing it tough at the moment. It is wonderful you can communicate with your friend daily and work with the other friend to see what you can do together to help out and be supportive.

The Olympics have been so different this year. My husband watched a lot of the games while we were in quarantine, good thing it was on really! I am amazed at the fitness and ability of the athletes.

Today the sun is shining. I have washing on the line, was going to spend time in the garden but the neighbour's dog has already been barking for an hour!

At long last I have made an appointment to have my hair cut! I also have a psychologist appointment in a town almost an hour's drive from here. I will leave early and have a walk in a park near her office. I have to do the grocery shopping after.

Wishing you all some peace today and splashes of sunshine. Kind regards to you all.
