    Hi. Paws

How are you going today? I'm flat as a tack it's one of those blah days. I didn't sleep well and the computer problems continue.... No more Olympics to watch either!

    Pats to lovely Woofa 🌷🐕💕🌻🐾🌿🌼

Hello Hanna, Dools, Grandy, Sleepy, wave to everyone,

Hanna you had a lot on yesterday... I don't think it's surprising you are feeling flat today... I hope you at least managed a walk with Sam... & maybe an icecream???...

Oh Dools it looks like you have had a lot on today... though I'm guessing it must be nice to be able to go out & about after being in quarantine... it still sounds a lot to squeeze in one day...

One of the humane mouse traps arrived today... I set it up a few hours ago... still waiting for the stupid mouse to be tempted by the lovely peanut butter I've used as bait... meanwhile I'm not at all surprised that Woofa hasn't smelt it out yet...

The census form has finally arrived... still tossing up whether to do it online or fill it out old school...

    Hugs

Gosh thank you for reminding me about the census forms Paws!

I'll be interested to hear how the humane mouse trap works. I used to dread killing mice.

Yes I'm over tired I think and didn't sleep well. I'm sorry the Olympics are over!

    Hi All,

For those of you who are feeling tired, exhausted, in pain, frustrated or just blah, my thoughts are with you.

I'm really thankful I have had a day where I've managed to achieve quite a lot! A huge change from just recently. I do wonder why my mood goes up and down so rapidly!

I walked to the hair dresser in our town and had a nice chat through masks with the hairdresser and another client. I had about 15 c.m. cut off my hair. I hope to use a pool for hydro and want to fit my hair in a bathing cap!

Home for lunch then off to a park for a walk before the psychologist. This lady is very different from anyone I have ever been to before. A short walk again to clear my head then off to do the grocery shopping.

Home, put the washing away, made the bed, had dinner and fed the cat. So productive! Not every day is like this! I certainly have days where I just walk in circles then lay down for a while as I am exhausted. Ha. Ha.

Let's see what tomorrow brings! Kind regards to you all from Dools

    Hi Paws,

I was going to ask you, what are you going to do with the mice once you have trapped them?

We had rats in the chook house, lots of them as the chook house was lined and insulated. The rats thought they were in the best place ever! I had wanted to keep the chooks cool in the summer and warmer in the winter.

Anyway, I caught the rats and released them near a creek with some food until they made their own way in life! One rat was not happy about the relocation and bit me through the cage. I went to the Dr and had a tetanus shot.

All the best with your mouse relocation!

Hello Hanna, Dools, Sleepy, Grandy & everyone,

Dools I feel tired just reading about everything you managed to do... & I'm envious of your hair... how wonderful it would be to be able to grow hair long enough to cut 15cm's off... I'm ok with mice but rats make my skin crawl... it's their tails that freak me... you are brave catching & releasing them.

The mouse trap is brilliant... easy to set... catches mice without harming them... easy to release them... yes that does sound like I've copied a product review.. but then reviews usually have something idiotic like... should come in more colours, black clashes with my decor... lol

It wouldn't suit someone scared of mice as the trap is clear plastic so you can see the mouse... only down side is it only catches one mouse at a time... so I was up a few times last night wandering outside releasing the little blighters... I started off trying to go as far from the house as the light reached & releasing them into the paddock next door... that was far to difficult as I was slipping about with the wet clay giving way under foot... so I ended up releasing them over next to the big shed (barn)... hopefully they will settle in there. I caught 5 of them last night... given Woofa only started alerting me to them a week ago I'm surprised how many there are.

What an exciting life I have when a mouse trap is the highlight of my week... 🙂

Hanna I hope you are feeling brighter today... are your music lessons on or off this week?... I've tried not to ask about your computer problems as you hadn't mentioned success... it must be so frustrating for you... have they given you any idea when they will have it fixed?

    Hugs to all

Hi paws and Dools and everyone

It's so nice to hear from you but I'm not so tired I might have to reply to you both tomorrow I am sorry. Grocery shopping, walked Sam took him to vet appointment for arthritis jab.. Phoned around trying to get help with lawn mowing and computer and new tablet still not fixed! Tried to do census and website won't accept my login so I've given up and am having a lie down! Busy day!!!!

So sorry I don't mean to be rude just overtired...

    Hugs all round 🌻💖💐🐦🎶🦚

    Hi Hanna,

Being over tired is certainly something I understand as I am sure a lot of others do as well.

There are days when I connect to the forum, flick from one thing to the next, respond to no one as it seems too difficult and I turn the computer off.

Sounds like you have a few frustrating issues to find solutions for! Hope you manage to resolve these things.

Hope you have a restful evening and feel more refreshed tomorrow. Take care, regards form Dools

Hello Hanna, Dools, Paws and everyone......🤗..

Awe Hanna...rest up as much as you can..being tired is horrible and it stops our motivation to do anything...Sleep is good..it gives our brain a rest from thinking...

Paws...I remember when we had the mice plague here...it was a 24/7 thinking in my mind....I was getting scared of them and nearly let them inherited my home😂..Then I made a mouse trap..and it was the highlight of my day when I caught them....so I can relate to your daily highlights..😂..

Dools..you always inspire me with all you manage to do...Walks, gardening, haircut and that sounds nice the hydro pool...even though I don’t know exactly what they are...😂..I hope it’s enjoyable and calming for you...

Please Stay safe and if need be..please isolate yourself the best you can..I heard it’s spreading in the central west...

Fur hugs and human hugs for everyone....

    Hi Dools and everyone

Sorry I haven't been around so much I think I had a bug of some sort. Needed a couple of days to rest.

Got my new little tablet fixed by the lovely young guys at the store where I bought it. I use it to listen to talks and music and I love rain sounds at night when I'm trying to sleep! I've been really enjoying having it.

Dools how are going? You sounded like you had some busy days and I've lost your thread somehow...

I didn't know how long we'll escape lock down here.. It seems vaccination doesn't stop you catching or passing on this delta strain but it does stop you from getting so terribly sick... Strange times we live in!

Covid has stopped any volunteer work I wanted to do so it's been hard to make a few friends here. My friend who came over the other day is getting a bit snappy with age I think... She is older than me by quite a lot and has had a difficult life.

Sam and I had a walk but I find the longer days hard to fill in without company. I had such plans for courses and volunteering when I came here but we had the terrible bushfires and then covid! So I never have had much chance...

Trying to figure out if I can afford music lessons weekly next term to give me something to do..

I've emailed the local member of parliament here requesting help to get dangerous dead tree branches lopped which Housing still haven't done months after I requested it. I've had two branches fall on the car.

Also asked if I can have help with the cost of lawn maintenance I simply can't manage any longer. I don't know if he will do anything but people told me it was worth writing to him and asking.

Sam and I now having a rest.

Let me know how you are Dools! Hugs ☺️🎶🦚🐕🌼💐⛲

    Hi. P

How are you and Woofa going lately? See my reply to Dools for my news. I definitely prefer the winter days I find the longer days of spring hard to fill in without company.

I have lots of music practice to do..

Never see Rosemary these days with her husband still so sick it's a shame.

I've been listening to talks on Intelligence Squared and The academy of ideas on utube. Some of the talks are brilliant.

I enjoy spring sounds and rain and thunderstorm sounds too! Good for getting to sleep at night!

Reading Jordan Peterson's 12 Rules for Life and thoroughly enjoying it. Are you reading anything good Paws?

How are your relatives in the city with the lock down?

    Pats to lovely Woofa 🙂🐾🐦🎸🌿🍄🎶

It's great to hear you have finally been able to email your local member... I will keep everything crossed for you that he/she helps...

How is your eyesight doing lass?.. you haven't mentioned it lately... I'm really hoping the deterioration might have plateaued??...

I have to go into big town in the next couple of days as I need to go to the chemist... as least Woofa will enjoy the outing... I wish I could take him with me when I go for my jab next week, but it is too far away given how long it will all take...

    Hi Paws and everyone

We had a lovely day out today in the next big town.. It was a perfect day and I think you have to grab at the good things in life so I swapped going to get a hair trim for a day out giving Sam some great walks and several paddles in the fresh sparkling streams and lunch in the beautiful park watching the ducks in the pond. I also got a couple of summer tops at the great op shop there. Just home after a long drive and nicely tired out! 🙂

Paws I'm glad you're getting vaccinated it's so important. I was just tired for a day or two otherwise absolutely fine.

The mice sound awful has the plague in this region moved your way??? 😗

The eye problem won't plateau but thank you for asking after it. I have a couple of friends in other states that I chat to online and they were asking after it last night.

Have a good evening!!! I think Sam and I will sleep well tonight!

    Hugs 🌷⛲🌻🐾🌸

    Hello Hanna, wave to everyone,

I like the sound of the day you both had... I always smile when I read about Sam's paddling away... it is a lovely mental image...

No we don't have the mouse plague here... I think they have come inside because we have had so much rain this winter they are being flooded out of their burrows & as I tend to leave the back door open all day they have easy access.

I'll do the run to big town tomorrow as I want a day between going there & having to head in the opposite direction to the regional hub for my jab...

Oh I had hoped that the deterioration in your eyes might be worsening in steps... you know, worsen, plateau, worsen, plateau... at least then the plateaus would give you a bit of a break to catch your breath... how are you going at learning the little tricks you need to manage things?... are any of them becoming more of a habit rather than you having to consciously think of them?

Hope the weather stays nice for you

    hugs

    Hi. Paws

I hope your trip to the big town goes OK. We have beautiful weather here although I always dread summer because of the heat.

Having a quiet day after such a long one yesterday but it was a lovely day. Sam loves it up there and so do I.

Not much news here. My friend said last night she's pretty sick from the chemotherapy.

We have to go back to big town on. Monday as Sam goes to the dog groomer there. There are road works all the way up there which make the drive about twice as long but at least the scenery is beautiful!

    Cheers from us here 🙂🍀🌼🐦

A shame everyone had to be home by 5pm.on such a lovely spring afternoon. The town looked deserted.

The supermarket was packed after the news hit.

You have more to think about the store now...

Hello Hanna, Grandy, wave to everyone,

I've been doing a good impersonation of the muddle headed wombat... Yesterday was not Saturday!! Today is!! ok now I have the day right... I will be going to the chemist on Sunday (as it is quieter than on a Saturday)

I watched an interesting documentary on avalanches this arvo... it was about scientists trying to improve their models on where & how avalanches happen... because regions have usually relied on historical knowledge of where avalanches might happen near towns & climate change is making avalanches happen in places they never used to...

Strange weather here today... had showers off & on, yet is was really mild... I'm guessing it was because we just caught the tip of the front...

That's not great you having a bad night... not being able to pin point why doesn't help either... I wonder if it might be all the stresses of the past few weeks catching up with you?...

Hope you get to the other town tomorrow. Sorry you've had some aches and pains.

We had some busy days here and the lockdown has meant lots of things have to be changed like appointments etc and I did a lot of homework so sometimes being tired is a good thing!

Afghanistan looks terrible I feel so sorry for the women and girls especially, they are already stopping them going to university.

    Hello Hanna, wave to everyone,

I didn't get to the chemist, but we went as far as the general store to get milk... I decided I'll go to the chemist in the town where I'm getting the jab... less travel that way.

Was the homework you did your music practice?... You must be so disappointed that your lessons are on hold for who knows how long... is there any chance of you being able to do it by zoom?

I'm so angry about the selfish idiots breaking lockdown... a party with 70 people & some of them had covid!!!... Plus a group doing a pub crawl!!! They are lucky I'm not the one in charge... I'd throw the book at them.

The situation in Afghanistan is heart breaking... the Afghan army was 200,000 strong & yet the capital fell in a matter of hours... I really don't know which would be worse... for the women to have simply lived under the taliban for the last 20 years or now to have had that taste of the freedoms for women & to have it all snatched away...

I hope you felt a bit brighter today & managed to get out for a walk...

    Hi paws

I'm late on here today. I feel so sad for people in afghanistan and especially the girl and women how terrible. What has 20 years of fighting over there achieved...

Town is so silent. The business must be having a terrible time. Lovely spring weather but you can't sit in the park in the sunshine. Everyone is anxious to stop the virus here. There is quite a sense of camerarderie.

I was meant to be in the other town for Sam to be groomed but I am not permitted to drive there of course.

My music teacher and I had a talk and we will hope to continue anyway.

Otherwise not much news as everything is quiet here.

I did vacuum the house at least!

    Hugs 🙂

Hi Hanna Paws and all reading,

I am thinking of people in the Eastern states who are in lockdown. It does make me wonder when all of this will end. The world is in a dreadful mess. My heart and mind have been saddened by so many world events and events here in Australia.

Yesterday I took time to read a book and to be lost in a fantasy world for a while. It is hard not to be impacted by what we see on the news.

Hanna, is Sam going to be okay if you don't get to the groomers? I hope the music lessons work out for you on zoom.

Paws, hope you manage to get to the chemist. I agree with you, it is incredible that people are willing to risk the wellbeing of others by gathering in large groups.

Hope all reading here keep safe.

I'm off to the hydrotherapy pool again this morning, will go for a walk and then start my volunteering then work. Another full day. Cheers to you all from Dools

    Hi Dools paws and everyone

It's sunny here today but the wind is very cold! Down to minus 2 tonight! I was going to give Sam a bath but I will have to wait for a warmer day!

A worker here from another town has covid. Everything is very quiet here. We decided to put music off until next week but I'm doubtful the lockdown will end this weekend.

I am enjoying some lovely utube channels. The Japanese slow living ones are nice and some others on living simply.

There's not much happening here to talk about as we really have to stay home as much as possible. Almost everything is closed. It's very peaceful when we walk along the river and I take a coffee and Sam and I picnic there after our walk.

Until I get my second vaccination I don't want to get this virus!

NSW doesn't seem to be doing very much to control it in Sydney and it's spreading all through the regions. I can't understand why they let this happen. They could have cordoned off the city metro area.

We're having a lazy afternoon. Afghanistan looks dreadful doesn't it. The poor women. Can't even go out with another woman!

Dools I hope your day has been OK. The hydro pool sounds great. Everything is closed here!

Sending hugs to you all 🎇🐾🎶🦚🌷🐦🌸

Hello Hanna, Dools, wave to everyone,

Dools you are so right about how nice it is to lose ourselves in a good book... what book are you reading?

Hanna it's not fair to the regional areas that they didn't lock Sydney down hard & early... I'm glad you are being cautious about where you go... Have the local shops there been asked to check the id of people they don't know & refuse service to anyone out of the local area?... All the regions here have been asked to refuse service to anyone out of Melbourne... it is a bit contentious as some are worried about aggro from those refused, but others hope it will make people stay away...

Very long day today... from walking into the vaccination centre to walking out took over an hour... I had thought it might as my appointment was for late morning & I suspected they might be running behind... I was shocked at how busy the whole town was... it looked like a normal pre covid day... my plan to go to a chemist there went out the window as I couldn't find a park anywhere nearby... I ended up having to drive to my regular big town... where thankfully it did look like people were observing restrictions.
