    Hi. Paws

Sounds like a long day! The vaccine might make you a bit tired but glaf you've had it done.

I don't know about local businesses most are closed here only supermarkets and chemists are open. We are not able to travel anywhere more than 5 kilometres from home.

I will have to go and do some grocery shopping tomorrow but mostly we are trying to stay away from people. Everyone here can only go out for essential things and exercise you can't sit in the park or anything.

I'm having an early night tonight!

    Hugs 🌷🐦🦚

    Hi Hanna hi all

Just a short pop by as I’m super tired again. Sorry to hear you’re in lockdown but I’m glad you’re able to still enjoy peaceful walks.

Poor little Stormy isn’t used to long days home alone and leaps about excitedly wanting a walk as soon as I get in. Lovely weather today ☀️

    Stay well, all x

    Hi Katy

I can imagine you're tired but Stormy will be happy to have you at home!

I find the lock down quite pleasant. The reaction of others leaves me bewildered to be honest. It's lovely and peaceful and we go for long walks by the river and I take coffee and a book and we sit by the river and enjoy the spring blossom on the trees and the sparkling water.

We sorted music out, I have several great books to read and I bought myself a tablet and Iisten/watch some great talks and videos.

I just miss having an ice cream in the park in the afternoon sun as it can still be pretty chilly here.

I don't understand the distress of others. As long as I can get out to walk I'm OK. Frustrating we can't get to the other town but think what people in Afghanistan or Syria have to put up with!

    Hugs from us here 🙂🌼🌻🐦🌸

    Hi Hanna...and everyone...

I like the 5 kilometre limit...I don’t think they realised that that villages and tiny towns have to travel more then 25 kilometres to even just get milk😂😂..

Stay safe everyone..and be proud of yourselves for doing the right thing..,I know many don’t...

Kya and Ebony are enjoying the warmer weather sitting out side..either next to the front gate growing at everything that they can see..or sitting on the couch I have on the veranda...They really are the worse 2 sticky beaks I’ve ever known..

Be kind and gentle to yourselves today beautiful ladies..

    Love and hugs to everyone..

    Hi Grandy

I know the regional police said they understand that in the country people have to drive further for essentials.

Only here for a moment hope you enjoyed the lovely day today! Sam's had a bath and is now clean and fluffy and smells wonderful 🙂🐾🌻

Hello Hanna, Grandy, Katy, Dools, wave to everyone,

Post jab - I've had a thumping headache all day... a couple of pain killers have taken the edge off but not shifted it...

Grandy the 5km rules in Vic also say that in rural areas the distance rule is to the nearest place to obtain essential supplies... I'm guessing it is the same in NSW... my local general store is a bit over 10km away... my nearest chemist is over 60km away... both are permitted destinations for me.

Hanna & Grandy it sounds like you are having some lovely winter weather there... I'm a bit jealous... where I went yesterday for my jab was bathed in winter sun... but when I left here it was raining & coming home the sky just got darker & darker the nearer to home I got... arrived home to find it still raining...

Hanna did giving Sam a bath help with him not having the groomer clip him? (I hope that made sense I've re-written it a few times & can't quite get it how I want)

I'm glad you have sorted out your music lessons... I wonder if as you both live alone you could nominate each other as your covid bubble buddy & then you could still meet in person??

I will watch War of the Worlds tonight on SBS... it is a re-imagining of the original novel & this is season two... I watched some of season one (I kept forgetting when it was on) & enjoyed it... so I hope season two is as good.

Hugs for the humans & pats for the furs

    Hi paws

Rest up the jab can make you feel a bit off for a day or two. Glad you got it done. Our lockdown is certain to continue for another couple of weeks at least 😕

G lives outside of town and is outside the permitted area so that makes it difficult! The police are driving up and down the highway in all directions checking people...

Sam needs a clip badly butt we're stuck. At least he's clean and fluffy now.

    Hugs from us here 💖🐦🌸🐾🌼

    Hello Hanna, wave to everyone,

Should I thank you or Grandy (or both of you) for sending the lovely winter sunshine I had here today?... I spent today with a book & a continual round of cuppas soaking up the sun... Woofa was able to go coat free for most of the day & only moved from the sunny spot for long enough to be fed... Unfortunately it will be a brief visit from the sun as the forecast for the next 4 days is rain & more rain.

What a pity G doesn't live in town... it would have been nice for both of you...

It sounds like Gladys has given up on trying to get numbers down... I don't understand why... we had higher levels in our big outbreak & we managed to get the numbers down... what do you think about how she is handling it?

Did Sam undo all your effort to have him clean & fluffy on your walk today? I'm wondering if he did the doggy thing & find a nice muddy puddle to splash in?

    Hugs & belly rubs

    Hi paws!

We had a lovely day here today too and alarmingly it was positively crowded in the parks...

Sam got playing chasings with another little dog and they both went in the river so he's now grubby again up to his tummy. So much for bathing him! 😕

II had a nice long chat with an old friend up the coast. She thinks Gladys is doing well and I think it's dreadful. The lockdown is extended so no groomer for Sam next week and no music and I can't get to a hairdresser 😗

Everything is closed so everyone is having very quiet days. I have plenty of books and music practice and utube stuff and we go for walks. There's nothing else to be done about it.. My friend says she just gardens and otherwise doesn't go out at all.

People get chatting by the river wearing masks and keeping a distance!

Crazy times indeed. I wish they had cordoned off the city straight away as we don't have the health care facilities here.

It's a good excuse for very lazy days!!! 😊

Do you listen to the ABC corona cast? I find it helpful.

Glad you enjoyed a pleasant day! 🌸🐦🌷😷🌿👍

Hello Dear Hanna, Paws and everyone...

It sounds like you both had a lovely day today...

Paws it’s so nice to hear that you were soaking up the sun today, with Woofa...I find it very healing..I try to position myself so the sun warms up my back where it gets sore...

Hanna, how nice that you had a chat with an old friend from the coast...it’s always nice to hear another voice even if it’s on the other end of the phone...The Park sounds like a really nice place to sit and relax...my dogs fortunately don’t like being wet...I don’t think mine would venture into the river..

I really wouldn’t want to be doing Gladys’s job...She has aged so much in the past year...and I can see the frustration in her eyes...that is when I watch the 11am news update....

I am going to try my hand at making a vegetable patch between two of my sheds.,,not sure if I’m capable of doing it..with my back/hip..but I am going to give it a try,,

The virus hasn’t reached small town W as yet..I hope so much it doesn’t...it services all the little towns around it for groceries etc...no “corner stores” in any of the villages around here...

Stay as safe as you can everyone..

Fur and human hugs to everyone..

    Grandy...

Hi Katy Paws Grandy Dools and everyone

I have been taking a break but nothing to do with you lovely people here! I have some real issues with the forums - I remember Calmseeker had that problem and eventually disappeared - so I have been listening to great talks on utube and reading a great book and generally having a rest.

Dools I am glad you found that talk helpful I thought she was very good.

I haven't read what everyone is up to. Just wanted to come by quickly and say hello.

I just need some time out. The virus is bad here and we can't go out anywhere except for exercise. Grandy I hope you are keeping safe.

Paws I hope you and Woofa are OK. Katy I hope uni is going well.

Please don't think I'm being rude you're all great but I felt I needed some time out!

I will be back. Cheers 🌷🌿🐾🐦😷

Hi. Paws Katy Grandy Dools everyone

Thanks for that I was in need of some time out. Grandy I'm glad your text was negative.

Katy Dools paws I hope you are OK.

How is everyone? We are in a hard lockdown here which might be extended we'll know tomorrow. Lots of cases here and I'm trying to avoid as many things as possible!

Has to go to the chemist this afternoon and we had to queue outside and they brought out what you needed to protect the staff inside and all their families if they got infected.

I was waiting with Sam and got talking to a nice woman from a distance and she knelt down to pat him and Sam kissed her on her face mask which was very cute!

I have a question for you all! My friend from the other state who was so abusive twice has sent me an email asking how Sam and I are.

I haven't replied yet. I only received it today.

I don't want to be hurt by her again. I think she has some real problems.

I have thought of sending her an email back saying I hope she is well and that I wish her the very best but I cannot trust her not to hurt me again and I will say goodbye.

Any thoughts? I never like ending a friendship and I miss her and our chats but I don't want to be upset by her again.

    What should I do??? 😐

    Hi Hanna,

Welcome back , lovely to see you here again. A break away from different situations does us all good I feel.

Ultimately it is only you who can make the choice. Has your friend been hurtful in the past besides just recently? Could it be she is dealing with a lot of stuff and she took it out on you? I am not saying this okay, sometimes life's circumstances make us do and say things we may later regret.

Is it possible for you to respond with a kind message and see what happens. Not having expectations may help you decide if this is possible or not. If she is nasty again, then at least you know you have tried once more.

If you do continue the friendship, it may not be the same as it was previously. Misunderstandings happen.

I don't know if I have helped or just confused you more!

Hope you have a good day and you keep safe.

    Regards from Dools

    Hello Dear Hanna...

I agree with Dools...that only you can make a choice...

My thoughts are that maybe your friend was going through a hard time and didn’t really think about her words that hurt you...Its really hard to trust someone that has hurt us...but we really don’t know what they themselves are struggling with....

I think I know you well enough to ask you this question...How would you feel emotionally and mentally breaking of the friendship that you have had for so long.?...I mean would you constantly think about the what if’s...and in not knowing how she is doing...would you miss her in anyway at all?....I really don’t know what to say to you dear Hanna.

Maybe just send a msg back..saying thank you for her email..and that your both doing okay..or what if not doing okay tell her...ask how she is....then maybe gently and kindly tell her that her words have hurt you in previous emails...and in what she said to hurt you...If she is a true friend, I’m sure she will be hurt by how she spoke* to you..

I always believe in giving people the benefit of doubt until things have been talked over...then you will know if she cares enough for you and your friendship...or just cares about herself....

Probably I’ve rambled on without much sense...it’s just that I would hate to see your friendship towards each other deteriorate without really knowing why..she said the things she did to hurt you...

My kindest thoughts dear Hanna with my love and hugs..

    Grandy..

Hello Hanna, wave to Dools, Grandy, Katy

I don't think I can add anything to what Dools & Grandy have already said about contact with your friend...

I know you will be.. but please be extra careful whenever you leave home... the spread of covid in NSW is worrying... I remember you have had a jab... have you had the second one?...

Did you watch What Australia Thinks on SBS last night... I was shocked when the said there are 400,000 older women currently at risk of homelessness... I knew they were the fastest growing cohort, but I hadn't realised there were that many....

Have you heard anything back from your local member?... If he/she isn't being helpful perhaps if you can work out who in the opposition has the right shadow portfolio... you could then contact that person stating that you had no help from your local member & that person might then do something for you... even if only so they can score brownie points over the sitting member... just a thought if you did feel up to it...

    Hi Dools and Grandy

Thanks so much for your replies. I am having a frantic day as both my phone and computer were out of signal today and I've got the phone fixed and have to drive out to collect and pay for the computer shortly.

I had last night to think about my friend and she has been shockingly abusive on three separate occasions so I am not going to risk that again. I noticed in her email she made no apology for her vicious abuse last time when I finally blocked her number.

I will email her I hope she is OK and I wish her well but I would not be able to trust her again. She's had three chances and reverted back to abuse each time. I think that's it for me!

We may have lockdown here for months now. What a mess!

Off to pick up my computer by distance - stay in the car and they bring it out!

What times we do live in! 😗🐾😷🌿🌷

    Hi paws

No news from the local Mp but with the virus hitting this area so badly I'm sure he's been flat out. News the hospital in the next town is already struggling with the numbers of sick people. Most of this town is shut down and I don't know how the businesses will survive.

I missed that show I was watching the para Olympics but I was talking to a woman yesterday from the women's refuge here and she said that they were swamped with women and children fleeing domestic violence during the lockdowns.

Yes up north we used to come across the homeless women living in their cars all the time and the government will do nothing. It's a disgrace.

Going home after walking Sam. Hugs to you all 🐦😷🐾🎶🎸🍀

Hi Hanna, Katy, Paws, Grandy and All,

The lock downs and increased cases of Covid are a concern. It does make me wonder at times what our world is going to look like next year. Maybe I should just look at getting through each day the best way I can and we don't even have lock downs here in S.A.

It breaks my heart to see what is happening. Then there are stories like the increase in domestic violence. It is so tough for so many people.

I'm going to push myself to go for a walk before work today. Hope that might cheer me up a little. Had a day home yesterday and achieved very little.

Thinking of you all, cheers from Dools

    Hi Dools and everyone

I hope you managed a pleasant walk to get your mind off the news Dools. It can be depressing can't it! It's like a ghost town here with everything shut.

I have friends in America fully vaccinated but they say as you can still catch it even after that - you get less sick though - they are still very careful and wear masks and avoid a lot of places. This thing is going to take a while to settle down....

Sam finds face masks curious and when people bend down to pat him he kisses them on their face masks! Cute!

Very cold and a bit rainy here so we had two long walks by the river and I chatted to a friend on the phone. Not much happening here these days!

Hope everyone is well hugs 😷🐾

    Hello Everyone,

Hanna, I like the idea of Sam giving people face mask kisses! That is so cute.

It must be strange having your town in lock down. Here in S.A. we have not really had many lockdowns at all. When we did have one and I was driving to work, it felt a little weird having so little traffic on the roads.

Hope you are all managing okay.

Katy, do you have a thread? I had a bit of look and couldn't find one.

Hello Hanna, Dools, wave to everyone,

It was a lovely day here after storms went through last night... I'm keeping everything crossed the forecast is right & the coming week will be mostly dry... a few days of sun will hopefully dry the ground enough to mow.

I hope you both managed to get out on a walk today... Dools I really enjoy reading of your walks on Shell's thread...

Hanna I haven't been watching the Olympics as I've never been interested in watching these or the regular ones I'm afraid... actually I'm not really interested in watching any sport these days... I don't even watch the cricket anymore...

    Lockdown extended here again...

    Hugs
