    Hi paws and everyone

Yes I was thinking that from now on I'll just phone people back. It's rude that they persist in texting after I've asked them not to.

A friend from coastal town did actually ring today and we had a lovely long chat. The two dog free beaches we used to go to have been banned for dogs now which is a shame as the dogs used to have a great time and I never saw any trouble but she said wealthy people are moving up there and changing things.

Nice and cool and rainy here today but Sam is still hot from his thick fur. The vet nurse never rang about clipping him so I will ring the practice and ask for her next week.

Ran into a woman with her two daughters who insisted vaccination was evil etc etc. I find it difficult to be tolerant with these folk!

Grandy, Deebi Dools, how are you all?

    Hugs 🙂🐥🐕💕🎶💗🌄

    Hello Hanna,

Back to winter here today & more forecast for most of the coming week... Woofa is back in his coat.

That is a shame about the doggy beaches... it sounds like most of the beaches in this part of Vic... most of them don't allow dogs & the few that do mostly only allow them in winter... dogs are banned from October to May... unfortunately I think it is because of the few "entitled" people who let their dogs run wild & spoiled it for everyone else.

I know with your hands you couldn't manage clipping Sam with scissors... might you be able to manage using electric (battery) clippers... they are light & very easy to use... I used to do Dad's hair using the human version. Even if you couldn't manage to do all of him in one go perhaps you could do it with breaks or over a day or two... Of course I don't know how much your vision problems would affect you being able to clip him. I guess I'm just hoping you could manage so then there would be one less worry/cost for you.

I hope the two of you managed a spell in the park

    Hugs

    Hi paws and everyone

I can't clip Sam on my own he wriggles so much even the professional groomer have trouble with him!

Yes we are forecast for possible snow in a couple of days! Today was nice though.

I'm soooo tired and so is Sam. Going to wait h Insiders on the Abc and go to bed!

Had to ring my elderly friend with dementia today, it is so stressful as I have to ring at 12.oo sharp or she becomes hysterical. I'm so relieved when the call is over poor thing but trying to talk to her is exhausting.

I hope Grandy and Katy and Deebi and Dools and everyone are all OK.

    Hi Hanna, hi all :)

Snow, hey? Gosh your weather is weird! I know I’ve said that a lot, but honestly lol

Just a quick check in as I have to get ready for prac, but wanted to let you know there’s an interesting show on ABC tonight at 8:30 about a school that tried to end racism.

Hope you’re well and safe. Katy x

    Hello Hanna..

Back to winter for a day or two...

I am sorry that your 12 o’clock friend can be exhausting for you...I think your a beautiful person by caring enough about her to ring her..Your phone calls probably brightens up her day...

Stay warm today Hanna...I’m still under my doona..with my fur buddies also hiding underneath it....I’m finding it to hard to get motivated to get up and do anything in this cold weather...

That’s okay about Sam...for today it’s good..his fur coat will help keep him warm today....It takes me a long time to give my dogs a haircut because they just go all floppy and don’t move...

Keep warm dear Hanna, Paws, Katey and everyone..

    Love and hugs everyone..

Hi Grandy and paws Katy everyone

I'm fully vaccinated at last hooray! Two weeks until it has full effect.

It's been freezing here today but no snow alas! Yep Katy the spring here is capricious!

Katy I saw you were discussing body dysmorphia etc on another thread. There's been a terrific discussion on one of the book blogger's sites I follow about modern feminism and the expectation of women to conform to ideas of what is attractive, it's been a brilliant exchange of ideas from people from various cultures and age groups.

Grandy I hope you kept warm today. Are you definitely not returning to the store when lockdown ends? How nice you had your friend over to stay the night when she was scared.

Paws how are you after the fall.i hope you're not too sore and bruised. You must have had a shock.

It's going to be freezing tonight.

    Take care all 🙂💗🌄🐦🏝️

    Hello Hanna, wave to everyone,

I saw on another thread that Sam was trying to turn himself into a pupsicle by splashing in the river in this weather... he is so adorably individualistic... Woofa on the other hand has only been outside for the briefest possible time to puddle & was back in front of the heater or on my bed for the rest of the day...

I spent today in bed after yesterday... I just needed to recharge...

Did you watch the ABC show about teaching kids about racism?... I am looking forward to see what the kids think about it after they have gone through it all... though I think the fact that all their parents had to approve them doing it, that reduces the possibility of seeing how it works at changing how kids who come from blatantly racist families think... it were a longer trial I would like to see it focus on all types of discrimination including disability, gender, weight etc...

Glad to hear your jab went well... did you manage to follow up the MP or social worker or did you run out of time?

    Stay warm

    Hugs & pats

    Hi Paws,

Sam and I both approve of cold fresh weather but I agree swimming in the river on a day of 6 degrees would be a bit much for me but my furry friend seems to delight in it! He is terribly fluffy and I can't get him in with a groomer for another two weeks so he's rather hot.

I'm not surprised you needed to rest after all you did yesterday.

I missed that show on the Abc I got busy with a book blogger friend online...

Do you remember ages ago we got talking about the way dogs lie in bed - taking up most of it? Well Sam's taken up sleeping across the bed up on the pillows so I now have zero elbow room!

My furry companion has no consideration for my comfort!

    Hugs! 😊🐶

    Hello Hanna,

How are you lass?... Have you any idea when restrictions might ease where you are?...

A lovely spring day here... after seeing all the blue sky in Melbourne on the news in the past week it was nice to finally have some here... though with the clear sky the temp is dropping rapidly this evening so a cold night ahead. Woofa has started his spring moult so his fur is coming off in handfuls... he does shed all year round it just turbo charges when the weather starts to warm up... given Danes are a short hair breed it never ceases to amaze me how he can lose so much fur & not show it.

I chatted to both my sisters this week which was nice...

I hope you managed to get out & enjoy some fresh air in the park

    Hugs

    Hi Paws!

I was wondering how you are. It was a perfect Spring day here today and we lunched Al fresco by the river in the sunshine along with pretty much everyone in town I think since everything is closed!

So many shops are empty and up for lease - laundromats, dry cleaners, real estate agents etc.

No sign of the lockdown here ending but the next big town has been able to open up. If only we could get to Sam's groomer there!

I'm glad you got to chat to your relatives. How's the new mattress?

I'm slowly decluttering the house. I did a lot of house work yesterday so I had a rest day today. With my sight issues I need less stuff to have to look through. So I'm tidying up a bit at a time.

Vacuumed, changed the bed linen did the washing and cleaned the bathroom and kitchen and mopped the floors yesterday. Phew!

Watching a movie on SBS now.

When do you get your second jab of the vaccine?

    Pats to moulting Woofa! 😷🐕🎶

    Hello Hanna,

Wow!!! Just reading everything you managed to get done yesterday exhausts me.... well done!

That is so sad all those businesses closing down... (touch wood) I've not seen any closures in the big town I go to, though I won't be surprised if there ends up being some.

Unfortunately there are now covid sites in my shire... thankfully as I live on the boundary of my shire...my local village & the big town I go to are in the neighbouring shire which is still covid free... even so, I'm very glad that I will be getting my second jab on Tuesday.

I hope you had a restful Sunday after yesterday's effort

It turned very cold here today it was the wind! Rather unpleasant.

Glad you're getting your second jab soon!

It sounds like we will have another couple of weeks in lockdown.. It's Groundhog Day every day here as every day is pretty much the same.

    Not much news

Going to do some music practice!

    Pats to Woofa 🎶💗🎧🎼🌷

    Hi Hanna, hi all

Sorry to hear you’re still in lockdown - what a pain! I’m guessing music is still on a hiatus? Have you been catching up with G still?

We had a long weekend here, although it didn’t mean much to me. I went to the farmers market though and it was jam packed! It’s a lovely market and all the travelers stop on the way through.

Well, the big boss is visiting our office today, and I’m starting work on a new project, so today should be good.

Hugs to you and Sam x

Hi Katy paws Grandy Dools everyone

A cool rainy day here thank goodness poor Sam is getting so hot because I can't get him groomed. I am desperate for a haircut too! Still no definite word on when we will open up.

Watched Le Weekend on SBS movies last night it was excellent.

Wish I could get some summer clothes but no shops open of course. Yesterday was lovely and everyone was outside in the parks picnicking.

Hope uni is going OK Katy.

Paws did you get your second jab?

Katy no it's holidays here, G will be in touch later this week. We're all waiting on word from the local council!

Off to get some lunch! 🐕🥀🌻🙂🎶

    Hello Hanna, wave to everyone,

It sounds like restrictions will be easing in NSW soon... much sooner than the ones here in Vic... you must be pleased that you will be able to get back to in person music lessons in just a couple of weeks.

I had my second jab yesterday... so far just a sore arm...

The forecast was for rain & storms, but so far despite being cloudy it has been dry & mild all day...

    Hi paws and everyone

Thunderstorms all day today and very muggy and warm. Not nice at all especially in lockdown so there's nowhere to go. Paws thats great about the second jab, two weeks and you'll have decent immunity.

No music we are hoping for 11 October I'm missing the first week next week. I did manage to book a hairdresser for a week's time if they can open but I would prefer vaccinated only but I'm desperate! Poor Sam's very hot.

Had a great day yesterday talked with an old friend for hours and a lovely walk with Sam. People very chatty which was nice.

What's Gladys been up to, are any politicians trustworthy I wonder!

My old friend has made no friends where she is after years and we had a good talk about why it's so difficult to make a couple of women friends!

I'm learning fingerstyle playing on guitar which I am loving, so different from strumming and prettier.

I'm going to be lazy today and skip our afternoon walk. I'm enjoying a cuppa and cake at home.

    Hope everyone is well 🙂🐦🏝️🥀☕🍰🎶🎸

    Hello Hanna, wave to everyone,

Yummmm... a cuppa & some cake sounds perfect...

From what I've seen on the news NSW has been taking a battering with all the storms... I hope they are well passed before you have to drive to the hairdressers... do be careful on the roads this week.

I do like listening to fingerstyle guitar... I agree it is lovely... though I would guess it must take a lot of concentration.

Gladys going makes me wonder what the federal lot are up to... given how they keep avoiding setting up an ICAC for their jurisdiction.

Out federal politians don't seem to ever resign out of decency do they!

Rainy again today. Yes fingerstyle guitar is very pretty and the good players can do it without thinking about it they practise so much.

Not much news here it's so quiet. I never see Rosemary or her husband now, since the delta virus they keep their house shut tight and the gates to the front yard locked. I don't think that's much of a way to live really.

    Off to relax! 🐳🥀🏝️🎸

Hello Dear Hanna, Paws and everyone....

I do like fingerstyle guitar like Paws..it sounds so calming and flows into each note gently..you are doing so well with your music lessons....

The last few days have been horrible weather for most people...I do like the rain and hail when it’s not damaging..storms I can get a bit anxious through sometimes but mostly I don’t mind them...

I like the sound of you and Sam having an ice cream by the riverside park...The 2 dams I’m central between are open now, only for recreational purposes....I still haven’t been up to the dam wall..

I hope the cuppa and cake was nice for you to relax a little..

    How have you been Hanna?..

    Hi Grandy

I'm just recovering again... I said on Paws thread that my old friend had contacted me again and I didn't trust her not to be abusive again so I sent an email in reply explaining this and wishing her all the best and she's just sent me another really abusive email because I don't want her friendship back - goodness I'm relieved I didn't trust her again! I wonder what's made her turn so nasty. It's a shame.

II've only just realised I've had the time wrong all day! I put the clock back instead of forward! Oops!

I'm sorry my friend is so unhappy and I miss the friendship, but it's clear she is going to continue to be nasty. I wouldn't have had the courage to stand up for myself once, so I guess it's healthy that I was able to decide that even though I miss our talks, her regular put-downs aren't OK.

Trying to chill out a bit now!

Hello Hanna, wave to Grandy, Katy & everyone,

Sorry but I had to chuckle at you putting the clock back... I don't mind daylight savings... I just wish we could have one or the other all year instead of this switching back & forth which is so disruptive.

Well done standing up to your old friend... that can't have been easy... I agree her response to your email does show you couldn't have trusted her... it is a pity she has become nasty.

Weather warnings for wild weather here later this morning... today is the first morning for a few days without fog...

Hope you have some more icecream weather
