    Hello Everyone,

I've not been around for a while and have not ventured very far back on this thread to read what you have all been up to. Hanna, I am sorry your friend seems so unsettled in someway at present and that she is sharing her unhappiness with you in such a grumpy and abusive manner.

We've had lots of rain in our region, some roads have flooded and today we have more rain. I was going to go for a walk before work but couldn't be bothered ! Maybe tomorrow.

At work I have an electric clock I don't know how to change, so one clock has the right time, the other is an hour behind. It has confused a few people. Seems strange getting up in the dark again. The cat is a little confused and doesn't know if it is time to actually get up or not!

Hope you are all doing okay.

    Cheers from Dools

    Good morning all

I’m a bit jealous of you guys having daylight savings - we still don’t have it here! Also, makes us 3 hours behind now.

We’re in for a downpour today. Feels like the warm weather is never coming. It’s fine for study and housework purposes though.

Sorry about your friend, Hanna. It’s a shame to lose friends when they’re hard to come by. But it sounds unhealthy.

Wishing you a nice day today. Pats to Sam.

ps: have you read a book called Quiet: The power of introverts … ?

    Hi Katy

I know I read that book but I can't remember anything about it!

I told that friend ages ago that I wished her all the very best but couldn't continue the friendship because of her personal attacks then she contacted me again and I said the same thing and now more abuse! I think she has an mh issue. I'm not a punching bag for her!

Having a break here after housework and grocery shopping. Beautiful day. Wish lockdown would end though although it's going to be a tricky time when it does.

    🥀

    Hi Hanna, Katy and All,

I'm hoping to find the enthusiasm to clean the house and do some gardening today, also planning a walk this afternoon.

Katy, it must be awkward when one state is so far behind the rest regarding time zones. I'm not sure if I like day light savings or not. I need to just be flexible and adapt tot he sunlight se do have each day.

Hanna, friends can wonderful or confusing, plus lots of other things in between. I have not contacted some friends for over a month now so I have not heard from them. I've not been to Church for 6 weeks an no one seems to have missed me there either.

It makes me wonder how many lonely people are out there in our communities.

Hello Hanah, Dools, Katy, wave to everyone,

Dools I think maybe you have the order back to front there... definitely nicer to have a lovely walk... then a sit with a cuppa in the garden pondering on what needs doing... (pondering is a very important part of gardening)... then maybe a bit of actual gardening... housework should definitely be last on the list...

Hanna that is sad that you haven't seen Rosemary for so long... I wonder why she has locked the house up like that?...

I'm so over the pollies whining about ICAC... I loved the lady on The Drum tonight who said that the public just want our pollies to grow up... so true.

Thankfully the storms here have now passed & the winds have finally eased... tomorrow is expected to be nice before storms again in the evening... I hope you are still enjoying fine spring weather...

    Hugs to all

    Hi Dools

I never found church very friendly so I hope yours improves!

Did you manage to get some housework done? Are you in lockdown there? We've been locked down for two months now it's getting dreary!

I've had a few frantically busy days somehow. There's never much to talk about because nobody is able to do much that's exciting!

I'm being lazy with my music practice so I really need to work on that.

Otherwise I'm reading, watching utube and Seinfeld re-runs!

What a thrilling life! Oh dear.. 🐳🐥🏖️🦄🎶

    Hi Paws

I wish politicians went into the job wanting to help people but I dear it's mostly about their careers and status!

How has your garden come along Paws, and how is the new mattress you bought?

Rosemary has locked up the house because if the virus she's terrified.

My friend was still abusing me about the time my phone dialed her at about 2am and that I did it deliberately - has she never had a pocket dial? I'm so over all the nonsense why would I phone at that hour to talk?!!!

Not much other news I've been running errands but not doing anything exciting.

There's a very made-up, very dressed up woman about my age who goes walking with her husband and dog. She always looks me up and down and I go out walking in comfy casual clothes and definitely don't bother with make-up when I'm out with Sam. I think women like that must be insecure - after living on the beach I don't worry about such things outdoors!

Hope you and Woofa are OK. Hugs! 🙂🏖️🐳🐥😷🦓🐓

    Hello Hanna, wave to everyone,

I'm guessing you still haven't heard anything back from your local pollie... have you had a chance to follow things up with him?...

I thought Rosemary worked as a nurse... surely she would be more likely to bring the virus home than any visitor would... hmmm??

A lovely spring day here, though the rain has now started so the forecast storms won't be far off... I spent most of the day slowly working on my pot plants... Woofa had to keep an eye on me, so having missed out on his beauty sleep all day he is now snoring beside me.

    Hugs

    Hi. Paws

Sorry I should have explained that Rosemary retired as a nurse to care for her elderly husband who is sick so they're both terrified of covid but it's a shame they're never even out in the garden any more.

The polly just shoved my letter to Housing after I sent him a reminder about it after 6 weeks had gone by with no reply. I'm sure Housing will do nothing!

How are the pot plants you bought going?

    Hello Hanna,

Why am I not surprised your pollie did nothing to help you... might be worth sending it to the opposition member who covers your area.... especially mentioning the sitting member just hand balled it... they might be willing to help as it would be good PR & oppositions are always looking for ways to appear to be better than an incumbent in the hope word of mouth might push their votes up next election.

The covid numbers here are worrying given we are supposed to be opening up in two weeks... I feel so sorry for the police officer who now has covid because of the protests.

I tried ringing my elderly relative yesterday, but it went to the answering machine... I'm trying not to worry... her son may just have taken her to her GP... will try her again today.

Not long now until you can go back to the library & music lessons... are you counting sleeps yet???

Pats for Sam & hugs for you

    Hi. Paws and everyone

Gosh a flat out day today with Sam at a new groomer as we can't get to the other town yet and then we had the vet for his arthritis shot and it's been very hot. I hate summer!

I hope your relative is OK. I'll keep wearing masks indoors our new premier is ant-mask which is ridiculous and anyway they're opening up too fast because of a federal election and our chief medical officer DrChant has been gagged.

Music is back for fully vaccinated only and the library I haven't checked with yet!

I've been reading 84 Charing Cross Road and it's absolutely delightful - the letters an American woman wrote to a British bookseller just after WW 2 and they became great friends from the letters and he died before she could ever get to London to meet him. Gorgeous and it is the actual letters from them both.

    Hugs from us here! 🌼🌿🍃🏖️🌱🎶

    Hello Hanna, wave to everyone,

Sam must be feeling delightfully cool after his visit to the groomer... do you think you might continue with this new groomer or do you prefer your regular one?

I remember the film 84 Charing Cross Rd... I didn't know there was a book made from their letters... I will add that to my to be read list.

I agree they are opening up too fast... there are too many vulnerable groups who still have low vaccination rates... I think you are very wise to keep wearing your mask for now... at least the opening up is a bit slower here.

It is freezing here today... I actually put the heating on about 3pm & Woofa, despite having his coat on, has taken prime position in front of it... I also put the tv on for some background noise... as I was channel hopping I spotted a doco called Ancient Aliens... the fact that I saw it has Mayan Pyramids decided me to leave it on... it reminded me of the frenzy back in the 70s to reinterpret everything to show extraterrestrial visitations... it was clearly a very old doco as it had lots of very earnest talking heads warning that the Mayan calendar forecast the end of everything in Dec 2012... Whoops they got that wrong.

I hope you had a less busy day & managed to recharge & relax

    Hugs

    Hi Paws,

The groomer here did a good job and Sam is much cooler (although I love him fluffy) but she was quite rude so I won't go back if I can avoid it.

84 Charing cross road is an easy and delightful read as it's just their letters as the American woman tries to shake off his British reserve and it gives a great insight into life in the UK just after the war. I think you'd enjoy it.

I'll be wearing a mask indoors and taking it carefully. My hairdresser is taking unvaccinated people which doesn't thrill me. I'm seeing my GP tomorrow and will get her thoughts but this virus is here to stay...

It turned cool and rainy here too. Rain all week I think.

Sorry only a short post tonight but hope you have are feeling OK! Hugs! 🍃💝

    Hello Hanna,

If you google the shadow ministry NSW it will list all the opposition members & what they cover... I had a quick look... there are shadow ministers for women, for housing, for seniors, for family & community services as well as some of them list regions they are responsible for... have a read through them & see which region covers your area... however many you choose to email make sure you mention your sitting member did nothing to help.

    Hi paws

Thank you so much! We are home we saw the nice vet who did the surgery on Sam's teeth he's one of the senior vets there.

He doesn't know - he did X-ray and urinalysis which were OK so he thinks infection and has given Sam an injection of long lasting antibiotic and said soft food with water mixed in to get fluids into him and the frequency which is about every 20 minutes will go on all tonight and tomorrow, so not much sleep for Sam or me again tonight.

We were both up all night last night and we are both exhausted. It's about 6 degrees here and raining and we are having a rest.

He doesn't know how Sam caught it. I could only pay half today as it was a couple of hundred dollars. It's so hard on top of the lawn mowing cost...

So a dreary day, I can't do much as I need to care for Sam. Poor little boy!

I can't get warm and I'm shaky but I think it's worry and lack of sleep.

Thank you for coming by! It's so frightening when our beloved pets get sick!

How are you and Woofa? Any news of your friend who is sick?

    Hugs 💕🍃

    Thank you Grandy and Paws!

We saw the senior vet who did the surgery on Sam's teeth, he's lovely and very thorough.

Sam had a big sleep and I'm trying to encourage him to drink and so far he seems to have improved a bit on the antibiotic.

We both had no sleep at all last night as he had to go outside about every 20 minutes all night!

Did you go to the store today Grandy?

Paws, any news of your relative in the city?

Sending rather weary hugs from us here! Little Sam getting sick is always so scary! Thank you both for your support!

Hi Hanna, Paws, Katy and everyone....🤗..

I am so happy that Sam has been seen to and on meditation that will help him...I agree Hanna, our fur babies are so very precious and when they get sick...we worry so much about them...

When Ebony was sick a few years back with a bacteria blood infection..and was put on a couple of meds...she didn’t want to drink...I have a syringe that I used so I could at least keep her hydrated...I gave her water using the syringe and it worked a treat....,Maybe if you think Little Sam isn’t drinking enough water...maybe ask your vet or your chemist for an empty syringe to use...

Wishing you both a beautiful sleep with lots of good dreams..

    Luv, care and hugs..

    Grandy..

    Hi Hanna,

Hopefully Sam is improving, do you have a chance to catch up on some sleep during the day? It is hard trying to get pets to drink more. I like Grandy's idea about the syringe.

We had a cat that needed medication, even two vets were unable to get her to take her tablet! She would froth at the mouth after trying to rip the vet to shreds and having vomited.

Hope Sam will be okay. It really is upsetting when our precious animals are not well. Take care.

Thank Grandy we both had a good sleep last night and Sam seems tired but a bit improved.

The vet gave him the injection because Sam won't swallow tablets. I can't use a syringe either, Sam's impossible, he clamps his teeth tight shut and you can't prise them open - and he's quite likely to bite!

He's had a little walk which is good. Thank you for your help and concern! 🥀🌼
