Hi Dools and thank you for your kind wishes. We slept in so I'm running late today but yes Sam seems a bit brighter today. I saw somewhere you have to tell unvaccinated people not to enter, that must be stressful as I can imagine some people would be incredibly difficult to deal with. I hope they're not abusive to you, you don't need that in top of everything else.

It's mid afternoon and all I've done is a bit of grocery shopping and a short walk with Sam!

Music is back this week which is good. I wish the library was open but that's happening next week.

    Are you keeping OK? 🥀🍃

    Hello Hanna,

Oh that is such good news about Sam feeling brighter... especially that he felt up to a walk.

Double good news... you won't know yourself being able to go to music & then the library next week as well... I'm sure it must feel like it has been forever since you last went.

I watched insight on SBS last night as it was about emotional eating... it was the first time I watched it since Brockie left... I found it missing that something that keeps your interest... not sure if it was because of how few people they had (covid limits)... or if it was the host herself, not having that knack of guiding the conversation.

    Hugs

    Hi Paws

Yes music today and the library opens next week hooray! I've been really missing the library!!!

I desperately need some summer clothes and I've been missing my regular trips to the other big town - I had planned regular trips there during spring as it's so glorious there then as it's alpine and the flowers and blossom trees are so lovely but we've missed most of the spring and it's raining all this week so we aren't going. Plus Sam's been sick now.

I forgot about Insight the other night I was watching a movie on SBS about Borg and McEnroe and the tennis which was great. I must remember to check when it's on. Sounds like it wasn't a great episode?

Big thunderstorms forecast here today. Bad timing when I have to get out and about carrying musical instruments! Sam gets scared too and I will have to leave him at home alone.

What's the weather like down your way? Any news of your friend who is sick?

    🙂🌼🐑💞🌳🐄

Hi Hanna, Paws and all reading,

Hope you manage to get to music today and the thunderstorm is not too bad. Some animals can be quite frightened by the stormy weather. Our cat seems to know hours before a thunderstorm gets here, she hides somewhere and won't come out.

Here in S.A. at my work place, we do Covid vax checks for staff and volunteers, not visitors and anyone one else entering the building at present.

I have a hard enough time with some people trying to check their flu vaccine record. All people need that to enter our business. Some people think it is okay to yell at me for ages because they never asked for verification of their flu vaccine.

Hope Sam continues to get well. Wishing everyone a comfortable and safe re-entering into the world!

    Cheers from Dools

    Hanna and everyone reading

just dropping in to say hi to everyone snd catch up on everyone’s news.

    I miss the library too.

It has been raining here for 3 days and nights.

Dools I had a printed proof of vax and was glad I did as my phone was playing up. People said why have you a printed form but I am glad I did.

Paws Inthink when a new presenter takes over it can take a while to get used to a new style and for host to find their way and their own way of presenting. I like insight but I have found it can be great or not great . For me it depends on the topic and the guests maybe more than the host.
    Take care everyone.

    Hi quirky

Nice to see you here! We have rolling thunderstorms here today.

I got a printed copy of my vaccination certificate too for the same reason - what if my phone acts up! So I feel more secure having two ways to show it.

I agree it must be hard to be a presenter on these programs but Jenny Brockie is hard to beat she was so good!

How are things with you lately?

I'm off to music this arvo a bit late as my teacher is still juggling zoom lessons for the unvaccinate kids.

I'll be dodging huge storms on my way there!

    Hi Dools

Some people are so rude, yelling at you. That must be hard to take. My hairdresser said on her Facebook page that clients were being abusive because she wouldn't open up during the lockdown and she pointed out that she'd lose her licence plus get a massive fine if she did. You'd think people would know it was a government order.

Finish later have to run a storms coming up!

    Hello Hanna, Dools, Quirky,

Thunderstorms all afternoon here too... very weird sky... clear blue with a few fluffy clouds to the south... black thunderstorm clouds with heavy rain & lightning over head & to the north... it was a very clean cut distinction between the two... the storms seem to have finally passed as Woofa has finally calmed down.

    How is Sam this evening?

    Hi Paws and everyone

I'm late home and another storm never happened! It looked like a huge storm was about to hit and it vanished.

Sam had to stay home alone so he's very tired as he's still under the weather from the infection and then being alone for long always stresses him. Normally I'd keep him in the car with Windows down if it's not warm as he feels safe inn the car, but he has to be able to wee regularly so I couldn't do that.

The rigmarole to get into music! Vaccination certificate and sign in of course but also a record of your vaccination certificate number and masks worn even in the lesson and no touching of anyone else's instruments allowed.

Paws any news of your relative in the city?

Dools, I'm sorry I had to dash in mid-text this morning a huge storm came up fast! How did work go today, were people courteous to you I hope?

I'm off to have some late dinner!

Hi Hanna, Paws, Quirky and all reading,

Hello to you all, hope those of you with pets are enjoying their company, hope Sam improves Hanna.

I feel for all the people in any capacity who are in the front line, taking abuse from angry people. I understand people are frustrated and confused. Just don't take it out on people who are trying to abide to the rules that are required now due to Covid.

Unfortunately it is a different world.

Having a paper copy of your vaccination is handy. Some people don't know how to provide a copy of their vaccinations from their phone, our business requires a copy for our records.

Hope you all have a good day. Cheers from Dools

    Hi Dools

Yes I don't know why people get so cranky! I got a paper copy of the vaccination certificate just in case my phone plays up, it's good to have.

I don't know if I did the right thing with my friend who became abusive. I miss chatting to her. Trouble is, I don't know that I could ever talk with her the way I used to. The email she sent me was so nasty, she criticised very personal things about me and said she would only talk to me once a week as I was boring.

Then she rang and apologised and then when I bumped the phone in the early morning the text messages were so vicious I deleted them and spent a few days recovering it was so nasty.

Then she wanted me back again because she said she missed the friendship. When I said that I didn't know how to trust her to not be abusive again I got more abuse.

I miss talking to her but I don't know if I could ever talk with her like I used to anyway. Once you've said horrible things you can't take them back and I don't know if I could ever really trust her.

    Any thoughts dear people here?

Hi Paws Dools Katy Grandy everyone

Problem! I have not made a single woman friend here. Covid last year and this year hasn't helped.

My one friend I knew years ago lives right behind me, two minutes walk away. She was my one support person here. She is in a codependent relationship with an abusive man who she now has to pay out a claim for part of her house as she divorced him but still has him living with her. I think she needs him to be dependent on her.

She vaguely knows G my friend. I emphasise it's just a nice friendship between him and me. She got furious with me when she heard about it and now she doesn't see me or speak to me unless it's something she can't avoid.

We used to have a weekly cuppa and Sam loves her. We haven't seen her for months now.

I don't know how to deal with this. He and I are both single and currently it's just a nice friendship. He is a very kind person.

Is she jealous? She knows I am alone and without supportive family. What is the problem if he and I are friends? She has been having a relationship with a married man who is not going to leave his wife.

So I've lost a friend because of a friendship!

Any thoughts about this that can help? If I try to speak to her she is always cranky and critical so I am keeping away. She never meets me for a catch up any more.

    Thanks kind people!

    Hello Hanna,

Ummm well my 2 cents worth would be to advise you to stay away from those two ex friends... of course only you can decide... but I feel that whilst a friend may have a bad day & be cranky for a bit... the first of these two has been nasty over a long period, for no justifiable reason & she can no longer to be trusted... putting up with abuse just to maintain contact with someone isn't a healthy relationship & you deserve to be treated better... with the 2nd one who lives behind you... have you asked her outright what her problem is with you & G being friends?... it might be something that the two of you can talk through & clear up... but if not, then I think no contact is healthiest.

You have had a shocker of a run when it comes to being able to meet new people... unfortunately with the christmas new year period coming up just as restrictions ease, that may limit any options you will have to meet new people until early next year... there are lots of different community groups (both charity & social) you could look at joining or even just going along to see if they might be for you...

I hope you are safe with the wild weather crossing NSW

    Hugs

    Hi Paws

Thanks for that! I've been chatting with an old friend back in coastal town today, she's been waiting to move to New Zealand for almost 2 years now due to covid and she's desperate as lots of her belongings are already over there with a relative! She's hoping to get there December...

Anyway talking to her and two other friends there is reassuring, as I do have women friends but not in this town!!! Another friend moved to a town that just had a tornado but she's OK.

I wish I felt able to talk to my friend here but she now always says she's too busy to catch up. We used to meet up regularly.

I'm sad about my other friend but I didn't feel I would be able to confide in her or trust her not to get nasty again.

All the Covid has meant everything has been off here - courses, volunteering... So yes, not much opportunity to mix very much! And xmas next!!! I'm jinxed!!!

Thanks for responding. Today turned so cold it's like winter and I've been lazy and stayed in all afternoon. I'm going to watch a movie on SBS movies tonight.

Sam is still tired, I guess the infection and antibiotic... It might be good he's having a restful afternoon.

Hope you're warm and snug there with Woofa. There's a man here who walks a big old Great Dane and it looks at Sam as if he doesn't think much of this silly little mutt!

    Hugs 💞🐑🌳

    Hello Hanna, wave to everyone,

I think you must have sent your freezing cold weather down here.... it has been wet the last few days, but not too cold, however this afternoon the temperature has plunged... I've just put the heater on & of course Woofa has taken prime position.

I saw a koala today!!! We went into the chemist in big town & on the way home a koala decided to dash across the road ahead of me... they do look silly when they try to run fast... then the daft thing decided to stop in the other lane & have a look around... at least it was in daylight so I saw it with plenty of time to slow right down.

How is Sam going? Is he back to eating ok?

Have you managed to email any of the opposition pollies yet?...

    Hugs

    Hi Hanna

Apologies I haven’t popped in for a bit. I’m thinking the library is open tomorrow yes? That will be nice.

Hows little Sam now? Recovered? Poor Stormy’s legs are no good at the moment. She really needs to swim, and the ocean looked so lovely today, but I imagine it’s not that warm yet.

Hello Dear Hanna, Paws, Katy, Matchy and everyone..🤗..

I too am sorry I haven’t come to visit you much..I have been reading along and I’m sorry you’re having such a hard time with friends...

I hope your friend does manage to get to New Zealand soon...that is about the only place I’ve longed to visit for a long time....maybe one day I will...

Hanna....a true friend wouldn’t get jealous of you for forming a beautiful friendship with G...Hearing people can treat other people like that really is so sad...

I am not much good at giving suggestions about friendships...The only true friend I have is Betty*...anyone else I can’t get close to..for fear of abandonment or rejection....Always keep true to yourself Hanna and don’t change for anyone...your perfect the way you are...

Awe how cute seeing that Koala.I don’t think I’ve seen a real live one yet..if I did I’m sure I would have remembered..

Strange weather we’re having this spring...It’s hot here today...I decided to finish off the rest of my lawn today...was a bit sad because I had to go over the half I done before the rain....at least now it’s all done...

I hope Sam is recovering well...Poor little darling..it’s hurts when they are not well...I’m sorry your fur baby isn’t doing to good Katy....I hope she gets to have a swim soon....I wish my 2 fur girls liked the water...They run the other way when I have to bath them...yet if their is a muddy puddle of brown icky water..they will play in it...

I hope your all doing okay...and enjoying today the best you can....remember tomorrow is another day and good things can happen each day for us..,

My love, care and hugs...beautiful people..

    Hi Matchy!

That's nice of you to come by! Sam's improving after a nasty bladder infection and he's a bit tired poor guy but otherwise OK I think. Pets are great aren't they?!

I was a bit sick myself this morning but just got back from a quick visit to the local op shop this afternoon as I'm desperate for some summer clothes but they've removed the chair in the change room due to covid so I've you have to take your shoes off and on it's exhausting!

How are you going these days Matchy? I hope things are going OK for you. 🙂

    Hi Grandy

That's OK you've had your own problems to deal with! It's nice of you to come by. It's so hot today I haven't got much energy. It feels like summer and I don't like the heat.

Yes I have nice friends in other places which is reassuring and I've known them for ages. It must be this place! I did meet my new neighbours yesterday over the fence, a young couple with a new baby boy who are renting the house where the rottweillers used to be. They seemed very friendly so that's good.

Yes I don't know why my friend is so angry about G and I. I think she doesn't like him because he's so shy. He can come across rude because he is so quiet but that's just his anxiety, he doesn't mean it, and if he feels people are judging him of course he gets worse. He just tries to avoid small talk.

I'm glad I have him to talk to each Thursday now as I can't seem to make any women friends here that's for sure!

I have been meaning to text my other teacher just to say hi, he teaches harp but he's been stuck in another LGA for months now due to lockdown.

How is your neighbour Mrs NSC going now Grandy? I hope she is behaving!!!

    Hi Katy

Poor Stormy I'm so sorry about her legs! What is the problem? Can the vet help?

I think the library opens today but I'm too hot and tired to go there today. It'll be nice to have it back though!

Just got two elbow length tips and a pair of pants for dog walking at the op. Shop. It's hard to find clothes for this weather that's too hot for winter tops but not warm enough for sleeveless summer gear! The pants were ten dollars but they're really nice. I've put on weight during lockdown, my GP told me everyone is fat from watching TV and comfort eating for months!

I like your chat with Sleepy about nail colours! I have to keep my nails really short to play music which is a bummer! So I just wear clear polish 😐

There is a nice utube channel called The Cottage Fairy I wonder if you would enjoy it. She lives in a little cottage in the USA. It's very pretty and soothing as she goes about her day.

I hope you are OK today, I know it's a difficult day for you today. Hugs! 💖🏵️🎠🦠

    Hi paws

We'll a couple of days ago it was freezing and raining and today it's sooo hot! Sam and I both tired today and rather bored. I haven't written to the shadow MP yet but I will and thank you for your advice and help. G said he detests the local MP here and I agree!

Sam is like me and is tired in the sudden heat. I have Vision Australia phoning me tomorrow to see if they can give any assistance with my sight issues but I don't know if they can help with my problem.

I'm going to take Sam for a paddle in the river shortly, he loves it. I was going to go to the next big town today for a day out but it was too hot and I was a bit off colour so we've had a quiet day.

I watched an amazing movie on SBS movies the other night, The Painter and the Thief - a documentary from I think Sweden or Denmark about a painter who decided to paint a portrait of a man who is convicted of stealing her paintings and they became friends and he managed to rehabilitate himself. It was stunning.

Hugs to you and pats to Woofa. I love that you saw the koala!

Katy, I'm used to looking at the swimming costumes the girls wear at the beach but here as it's inland they all wear their gym gear out walking. I think they look so comfy but you want to have a good bottom to wear the pants with the ruched stretch bottoms! All the young guys seem to enjoy watching them it's quite funny watching them almost walk into a tree they're so busy watching the girls!

Without going into much detail Grandy, long ago a man did something terrible to me. We all have our histories here as you know!

Anyway when I was very anxious one day G did something so kind that I wept for days. Which is why it's a rather special friendship for me. He is a very kind and gentle person. That other man was anything but.

    Hello Dear Hanna,

I am so sorry to hear that you went through something terrible a man done to you...big hugs lovely lady...

G sounds like a very caring person to do something special for you, when you were having a very anxious day....I think because of his anxiety he understands you and wanted to do something nice for you...People like G are a real treasure as friends...I feel very happy for you that a friendship has been made....

I am too afraid of men to even have an acquaintance with them....Honestly I just don’t trust any man in r/l....I know there are good and kind men out their...but I need to talk to them first...and that’s something that I can’t do....

I go back to work tomorrow...the op shop is only going to open 3 days a week...because on the other 2 days the boss and his wife are working in the shop...and no one wants to work with them....Sad that a manager/boss hasn’t learnt any people skills....and is so angry most times...

I hope you have a good nights sleep tonight Hanna and everyone....

My love, care and both fur and human hugs..

    Hi Grandy

I hope the day at the shop goes OK. I think that's rather funny about it having to close because nobody wants to work with the boss and his wife, they must be dreadful but what a shame for the shop!

In the op shop here yesterday they've taken the chair out of the change room which makes it very difficult if you need to take your shoes off and on standing up.

I'm not scared of men I enjoy their company usually more than women as women can be so nasty. It's just certain situations can make me unsettled. I can understand your feelings though.

    Enjoy today at the shop!

How did the call from Vision Australia go?

Another chilly day here... more rain forecast for the rest of the week as well... I would really like a few dry days in a row to help dry out the ground so I can mow without bogging.

I'm going to watch The Big Deal tonight on the ABC... its about political donations & looks like it might be interesting.

    Hi paws and everyone

I missed the big deal last night as I was watching a movie on SBS. How was it?

Vision Australia was good she will get an OT to assess the house after I get some documents to them and this will help with Housing.

A beautiful day here and we've spent plenty of time outdoors!

The library is open again but shorter hours so I could pick up some books yesterday.

Has a long chat with a friend in another place up the coast, she and her husband retired there 5 years ago and she still only has one friend, we were commiserating with each other! People really aren't very friendly any more.

Big hugs I'm off to walk Sam by the river!

    Hello Hanna, wave to everyone,

Oh that is so good to hear you might finally be getting some help... how hard will it be for you to get together the necessary documents?... I will be keeping everything crossed that you will then hear back sooner rather than later...

The Big Deal was interesting (see my reply to Katy on my thread)

How is Sam coming along?.. Did he feel well enough for a splash in the river?

    Hugs

    Paws

Hi Hanna, Paws, Grandy and All,

I've not dropped by for a while. Hanna, I noticed you mentioned you were taking Sam for a walk down near the River, so I hope that means that Sam is doing a lot better.

Thanks for the reminder about the library, I might call into one near us and borrow some books. I don't have any favourite authors so just randomly choose books off the shelf! It is a bit hit and miss really.

We are having a burst of sunshine here for a few days. Have spent some time weeding and listening to the birds.

Hope you are all doing okay or at least reasonably well! Cheers from Dools
