my daughter reads and talked everyday to her baby , I delivered a few hundred books my daughter asked for her baby. A great collection of our favourite authors and new ones.

Velvet I want to buy one of those fit bit things to count my steps but never do as it seems complicated.

I was spectacularly lazy yesterday. 6k steps. Lazy today. Not really. Comparitively.

Dinner is nice too Lisa. I'm cooking some top notch steak tonight. Man thing is banned from cooking steak. Last scotch fillet he munted.

I believe interacting with babies helps them learn so much about the world around them. Emotions. Speech. Probably bucketloads!

sometimes moods maybe caused my different things.

Asdff , be kind to yourself. Medication takes time to adjust. I’m on lots . My issue is I have the odd one falling out or staying in the Webster pack. I’m now on Panadol osteo. Didn’t realise taking these can lead to issues. I’m a bit blasé in regards to meds. I’d like to be off them. Maybe one day.

As I learn about things I've been diagnosed with, I see things so much more clearly now. I wish the people in my life would educate themselves to understand too.

Why am I bad with praise? Rarely if ever have I received it. Positive feedback is super rare. I don't think that's unique at all.

I always have to push myself because I've been conditioned to think I'm not worth positive feedback, because it has rarely happened.

Need to do more and more to seek the reward. Never get the reward. Burn out. Rinse repeat.

It's depressing tbh.

I've tried to talk to people about it. It only gets ignored / pushed aside and they continue about themselves.

It really hurts.

Probably why we both go full tilt hammer and tongs wanting that recognition. The praise. The positive feedback. Acknowledgement. Validation. To be heard and heaven forbid understood!!!

My parents are the same. Maybe it's me? I've blamed myself too for the lack of normal parent / child affection.

I've started with not chasing people anymore. I have always been the one to contact, suggest catching up, etc etc. I've stopped. I also never get invited or included in anything unless it's something I instigate. So I've stopped.

That's it for now. Work I'm putting in boundaries. Ones in my own head. Like don't try to do 3 jobs at once. Do 1 and if you can't do the others let it go. I was told any absences now I have to plan them. Ok. I'll plan my next germ no sweat.

Gah.

I've come out of the diagnosed and treatment adhd closet to a lot of close people. Only the smallest minority seemed to absorb the basic of info. The rest ignored it, dismissed it or reduced it.

Cool!! Try doing that to a person of different race, gender identity, sexuality or culture and watch the kick off.

I hate society's double standards.

i can relate to what you both write seeking approval. When I started writing a weekly blog my family thought it was a joke and I regretted showing them what I wrote.

Maybe not praise but to have people I love be proud of me.

I was often told I was messy careless untidy and clumsy which I was.

When I look at society as a whole, tearing people down, bullying etc is now the norm. Praise comes from posting heavily filtered photos on social media while wearing next to nothing.

This is what we've become. Praise the fake and ignore the real.

I almost cancelled my gym membership yesterday too.

The instructor wasn't very nice and I tried to chat to 4 class members friendly and stuff and not one smile or a word. They looked at me like I was some swamp creature.

The instructor got friendlier though as he got to know me a bit so that was good. He figured out I wasn't a threat or something

Where I volunteer I always say hello when I arrive. Not dire if people can’t hear.

I have had lots of social interaction in past week and cuddles adult and baby, Really good but strangely tiring.

Velvet ,it’s healthy to vent.Finally made it to our destination. Long drives aren’t for me. Speaking of venting I cracked it with a mate trying to organise a catch-up. He insists on communicating by email. A couple of phone calls would be far quicker. He’s cracked it with me with another email. My wife says I’m over reacting. I don’t care. Such a tight ass he won’t go anywhere decent. I’m not a snob but frankly I cant be bothered. Maybe I’ve turned into a grumpy old man. My worlds becoming smaller but that ok, I’ve got people here as we get one another.

Velvet, you are so so right. I’m cutting myself some slack during this getaway in terms of food/fasting.After a decent walk had a magnum ice cream yummy.

Just saw a discounted gym membership. Maybe when I was younger not now.

King parrots are great. First time I saw those was in the snowy mountains I think. Was a very long time ago.

Sunshine and bike rides. Maybe I need a bike ride this weekend. Been a while and it's going to be super warm. Flowers are great. I have Guinea flower in the backyard and the blue banded bees love it.
