Yeah l get the same problem but mostly the 'my threads' does me bc anything beyond the first page isn't usually getting used anymore anyway. There's been a few l'd like to check in on but then l realized if they've been back and posted, it would've showed up on my first page anyway .

how would ppl feel if underneath ur username/profile, it had a link to ur thread? Like mayb the main one you use?

I've seen other places which have that, so whn u click on someon's profile u can see threads they have created...

i'm on the fence about it, it feels bit intrusive maybe to give evryon all tht info but it does get hrd sometimes if u want to post on someone's thread and join in the convo i have personally a trrible time finding where the thread is.

i guess we just ask each other where to find each others threads here to solve that, but sometimes someone wll post about a discussion they'r having on their own thread and i'd like to find it and join in but have no idea how to.

I’d love to see an easier-to-find ‘login’ button/link.

At the moment it’s located towards the bottom of the menu, and it’s easy to miss, especially if using it on a phone.

If mods are going to edit a post, can they perform member checking first? Deliberating over a post to get it just how you want (surely I’m not the only one that does this) and then having it altered to say something you wouldn’t say, or just not making sense, is uncomfortable.

And my thanks to mods regardless. You/they do a good job of keeping the forums a safe space. Thankyou

Hi Mods, I wonder whether the generic email we receive when a particular word is mentioned can be relaxed because mostly when the reply is checked by a moderator the reply is posted to that thread.

Imagine the wear and tear you would save rather than a long email we receive, over time the cost would be enormous.

In such a difficult time (global pandemic) I am tired of seeing 'No Reply' in occasional moderator emails. I do respect the workload that our moderators have yet I dont see any empathy for a persons mental illness

are threads sometimes deleted without any warning to the users of the thread?

i may be losing it but i have noticed a thread i used fairly recently which had a lot of discussions is no longer there (it says its an old an expired link....)

im confused. wouldnt we be told if a thread was being deleted, and isnt the policy generally to simply close the thread (with an explanation why?) so future users can at least see it and see the discussions, rather than wipe the whole thread from existence? If something like this is done, i think it sits better with me that i receive a reason why. Generally it's much bettr to be included in the process and given as much info as possible, in the name of transparency for all users.

I think i'm surprised because i always appreciated that BB did that, when they closed threads they left a message about why they were doing so, which i really respected.

I'm worried and confused that its not there.... just wanting to know why?

We're really glad you flagged this, the Vent and Let it go... thread was accidentally hidden and now has been reinstated. This was not due to any content or moderation issues, it was purely in error. It can have a very upsetting impact on someone when they have posted something very difficult to talk about and their post is deleted because it somehow has a reference to the moderators and the only notification is a no reply email.

Why can't people pleasantly be offered the chance to re-word it?

The no reply emails come across very abrupt and quite frankly, rude.

I have at times been offered chances to reword my posts, and have also noted that posts sometimes are edited.

Not sure if Hanna is referencing a specific post and situation, but if yu are unhappy with the decision and contact the mods they may be able to assist, or if you believe an error has been made and ur post didn't mention moderation.

Errors do happen and the mods are open to hearing regarding that if it distresses you to see a post unfairly removed. That said, I understand that most mod decisions are final, although you can always try again and seek guidance from the mods about what part of ur post is not allowed.

hey deebi that would be on my list as well, and in addition, the search function is, (i'm sorry to say) kinda useless.

It seems to only search titles of threads, not conent.
Sometimes I remember someone posting somthing specific and want to return to the thread but I have absolutely no chance of finding it, unless I remember the threads title.
I think the search function should search all the threds etc, to help u find posts by user name, comments etc and not ust by title. Even if you remeber parts of the title, unless you can remember it word-for-word, the search function won't find it for you!

It's very specific and stuck on finding the full title.

The Beyond Blue search function is terrible. I rarely use it instead I use Google (pardon me if I'm telling you something you know already)

to search for a user -say me - they use this search string in Google

Croix beyondblue forum

To search for a string of adjacent words use rabbit ears- say when search for exactly lettuce is good type

"lettuce is good" beyondblue forum

To search for a couple of words use AND

rabbit AND hutch beyondblue forum

You can look up more in advanced Google search syntax on the web

Beyond Blue forum management have a lot to deal with with operating a National Mental Health forum...no worries there

The forums are due for a brief period of maintenance in approx 12 minutes and I have bumped up the 'official' thread so members are aware

Community Champions are given notice re system maintenance as I used to be (not just in the Welcome & Orientation section)

Common courtesy is free....Can people be made aware of upcoming forum maintenance even with a reminder a few hours prior to system maintenance?

Maybe a 'Community Champion' can take the initiative and provide members with a notification prior
