    Hi,

It would be great if when you hit reply to a post, instead of having to type the reply at the bottom of the page - so if I want to remember what the person said/asked that I'm replying to, I have to scroll back up to the post all the time - if the reply box could be directly under the post being replied to, so you can easily read what you're replying to.

Hanna, That is a great idea and I have often thought that. I think it may have been mentioned somewhere before and am not sure it is possible to change.

It is a good idea and thanks for mentioning it.

    Hi Everyone

Hey Desedrata...you (and Hanna3) have provided helpful input on how to make the forums more user friendly and thankyou! Just from my own experience it comes down to budgetary issues

Hi all. I agree with Hanna's suggestion, that would be helpful.

I also think that it would be great to have notifications (such as "someone replied to your post/someone tagged you"), but I understand that it would be a bit of effort to do that.

A private messaging thing could also be good, but that's no big deal. Kind of like one where you can get messages but you don't have to accept and answer them, like Facebook?

And lastly which I'd love the most out of all of them, is an option to put pictures and GIFs? I don't mean pictures of ourselves (would be nice though but I respect that), I mean just nice pictures and GIFs, whatever people want to post, as long as it's approved by admins. So pictures of inspiring quotes on Google perhaps and funny GIFs like Cats or something? Since I've seen some of that from some of the mods in some posts.

That's all the suggestions I have for now, the forums are great either way though, thanks.

    Tayla

    Hey Mark!

you have mentioned a good point as I have thought the same...yet there may be some people with a fragile mindset that may find the virus upsetting to read about especially considering the media coverage it has

The moderators have placed an active link re the Corona Virus on the copy & paste thread below...

    www.beyondblue.org.au/get-support/online-forums/staying-well/hi-there-i-only-just-joined-and-i'm-worried-about-the-coronavirus

do you think this enough....at this time?

    my kind thoughts

Hi Paul thanks for that reply.I know their is a topic on bushfires i thought it would be just as upsetting for people who have been through the fires.I just as you have noticed their are people talking about it and worried and maby some facts would be good rather then all the hysteria that seems to be going on.The link is a start thanks Paul.

    Take care,

    Mark.

I mentioned it above but can we please have the following?:

    - Emojis (not offensive ones like the middle finger or anything, just hearts, smileys, stuff like that). I know we can use them if we use Apple devices on here though (such as iPads because I've done it on mine and they've come up when the post has been approved).

    - Somewhere where we can put GIFs and photos in comments (as long as they're approved by mods/admins), so things like a GIF of hugging, a picture of a Sunset someone took, something like that?

    😊 Hi Tayla 😁

You can copy and paste emojis from various websites (such as but without any particular Beyond Blue endorsement - getemoji.com).

As for GIFs, we've noted your suggestion. Thanks!

Hi sophie what would be a good idea is to be able to edit a post you make on a thread.I have a terrible habit of leaving words out and my post dosn't make sense and it annoys me when I spell words wrong as well.I do it all the time on Facebook and I just edit it to fix up my mistakes.

Members used to be able to post their own pic as their profile picture a while ago....back in 2017...Do you want to have your photo as your profile picture? I used to have mine as my profile pic for a long time

Great to have your assistance on the forums Mark :-)

I am concerned about the coronavirus thread. Without instructions to listen to government health instructions I fear the post is encouraging increasing alarm and panic, and posts which object to instructions about physical distancing, directions in stores about where to stand/wait etc, are potentially encouraging people on the forum to disregard government directions and thus endanger the rest of the community, as well as themselves.

I would not mind to put my photo etc but i think i would feel uncomfortable knowing that the posts could be viewed by the general public in google searches. I like to share with people here but not with the whole internet.

I agree with you Hanna, I keep seeing stuff about it on these threads, the news, etc. I try to avoid them because I have enough on my mind.

And love your profile picture by the way, looks so pretty.

I have another suggestion, maybe there could be an option to change usernames? No big deal because that's fine.

And how about a way where you can check in on someone? There's been a few people who have randomly gone off here who I've talked to, and I'm worried about them, so perhaps email the mods asking to check on them or something? But of course I don't want to trigger and make anyone uncomfortable, just worried about their safety that's all. But that's understandable.

    - Tayla.

    Hanna,

I think all effort is made to recommend links to beyond blue articles which follow government guidelines and all effort is made to keep the thread positive and to promote the govt guidelines..

Can it be made clear how to contact the moderators. I believe a post on the coronavirus thread should be removed and yet it is still there and I think it is important that any post which discourages following government recommended social distancing should be removed. I consider the same for any post which talks about conspiracy theories as this causes further alarm. This is serious and needs to be addressed please.

Quirky i'm sorry but I disagree. There are posts there that should be removed or moderated, that discourage following government guidelines and also cause further alarm.
