Hi Hanna3,
We too object to and remove discriminatory language from our forums.
It is really important to remember that text is not a perfect medium of communication especially for things like tone of voice. This in turn can lead to misunderstandings.
Please be aware that just as the intent of your post may be misunderstood by other readers so too may you misunderstand others' intentions when reading their posts.
This is why we ask all forums participants to please keep in mind the overarching values that guide our community rules (https://www.beyondblue.org.au/get-support/online-forums/community-rules). These five values are: support, respect, empowerment, safety and friendliness.
These rules have been designed in the best interest of the whole of our valued online forums community. If everyone keeps these in mind, misunderstandings should be kept to a minimum.
If you do see anything you think breaches these community rules then please report it to moderators by hitting "Report Post" in the top right corner of each post. If you do that, moderators will review the post immediately.
Remember that references to moderation in the forums is cause for them to be edited or removed as they are off topic and tend to derail conversations designed to help people with their mental wellbeing. Should you wish to query a moderation decision, please get in touch with us privately via email and we will respond on the next business day. Please note also, that while always open to review, moderators' decisions are final.
