    We can do it BBers, we can do self-care.

    Sleepy21 pointed out research that shows self-care REALLY helps!

    Please share what you do for self-care so we can get inspiration, ideas and motivation to do it too.

    Hey all...

    i love this thread

    a few self-care things i've been doing

    1) following what i learn in hospital and presenting my meals nicely - more appealing and "treat" like.

    2) short walks

    3) reading the newspaper

    4) having a podcast going in the background so I can tune in and out and relax

    Mowed the lawns

    Have noticed a lot of resistance coming up to self-care....

    feeling like somehow it's like i've done enough self care etc... putting pressure on myself to not need it.
    at those times i probably need it more than ever.

    I'm hearing you Sleepy21 loud and clear. I never think I've done enough self-care... I just resist doing it completely!

    BIG struggle for me.

    I love your presenting food like a treat one lol! Never thought of that.
    I always forget about podcasts.. hmm.

    monkey_magic - lovely spending quality time with mum... awww.

    Wow Not_Batman - what a set of achievements today! I think you are Batman with super powers like that! Lol. Well done you.

    My self-care things today:

    1. drank lots of water

    2. ate a good lunch

    3. had hugs with my pets

    4. had a nap

    took some time for myself when some very chatty neighbours wanted to talk to me (sorry, not today lol)

    put on a snug jumper

    (these are hard to write)

    (i'm not good at this).

    My self care today:

    - had a shower

    - finished cleaning the house and did all laundry

    - listened to guided meditation

    - did mindspot course for anxiety/depression

    1. I made the decision to start paying more attention to the kinds of activities I could be doing so that I feel more content and happy with my life,

    * had a long bath

    * put a hair treatment in my hair

    * wore jewellery (not sure if this counts lol but it kinda does for me)

    Sleepy21 sent me some sparkles for my nails lol so I'll use them on Sunday when I repaint my nails! Thanks Sleepy21!

    Today I'll be doing home renos with my Uncle so my nails will cop it lol.

    here is what I did:

    1. Wished my papa/mama and my brother in the morning

    2. Cooked dinner for papa/mama

    3. Helped my mama in house chores

    Yesterday I

    * got lots of hugs from my kids

    * nurtured my relationships with my adult children - gave them time to express their feelings

    * ate a nice take away dinner

    This is a great thread! self care is so important.

    Every sunday I do washing, I dont have a washing machine or a drier so I go to a laundromat.

    while I wait for the washing, I use this time to relax with a coffee and a scone or 2 from the bakery, or have a cheeky asian meal at the food court or have a quiet beer at the pub.

    I took a walk

    spent time with my family.
