    2) Spent lots of time with my partner and our two beautiful birds.

    3) Got into a video game I haven't played in ages.

hi EM - i love them - i'm lookign for some stable, solid things for my home rather than ikea stuff which i inevitably throw out. I always feel like a gypsy. I put this dresser on gumtree. I was so proud because I had my neighbour assist me carrying into my apartment, and had the lovely seller help me position safely in my car - so I didn't need any assistance/support/involvement.
    It's so cute -very heavy!

It's in my lounge room now :)

Hope your self care sparkles - some days are harder than other but remember, little things absolutely count!!

I am SO happy you bought that for yourself! It's such a special thing, I really want a photo lol.

I'll talk to you more on my thread!

I'm doing really well... just doing more of the "care for the home" than personally ME.
Which is FINE by me today...

    Does hugging a tree count?

i have a japanese maple tree, and its leaves are so soft. so leaning into the leaves today felt like putting my head on a soft cool pillow.

i had a 5 min nap when i got home,

now cooking dinner for the family

    later will be movie night

OH YES! Not_Batman it most certainly DOES!! lol..

I find it kinda interesting that you ask an ecomama if hugging a tree counts... omg yes.
    So beautiful.

A JAPANESE Maple tree oh SO pretty! I hope to have one in my garden one day. My Aunty grows them and has one 50yo in old in her garden she planted lol... more of this stuff on the gardening thread lol!

I will have to do so myself but it's a lilly pilly lol.

    My self-care things:

    * slept in omg that was amazing lol. 😴

    * bought some cranberry juice to help me 🍒🍒 couldn't find an emoji of cranberries lol.

    * will phone a friend today 😍

    * will be hugging a tree VERY soon! Thanks for the tip Not_Batman!

    😁 EM

Thanks, EM. Ooh, Not_Batman, now I wanna hug a tree (have done my share of tree hugging over the years).

    Today's self care:

    1) Enjoyed some home-made Basque cheesecake with raspberry coulis. The making of it yesterday was kind of a self care act, too, I enjoy and take pride in cooking.

    2) Went for a walk with my lovely partner. We saw pellicans. :)

    3) Snuggle time with my little birds.

Awww snuggle time with birdies, love that!

I reckon we can set our own code of conduct for what constitutes self care so ABSOLUTELY making a mindblowingly delicious cake IS self care lol!
OMG my mouth watered reading that!

I hugged my lilly pilly after posting lol.

Sure, go hug a tree and feel the LERVE!

Love your post Blue's Clues... awesome

    Self care

Someone who I have emailed for a few years is deciding to write mean emails .

i decided to ignore and be kind to myself rather than react and then regret what I said.

    Dear quirky.... absolutely that's SELF-CARE...

We have a little group on mine and Bluberry's threads who are PURGING the nutters from our lives!

HOW DARE THEY quirky. Ban that person.

When there are so many beautiful, kind, caring and supportive ppl in this world, the nutters can go jump.

You can be very proud of yourself, I'm proud of you too!

    WELL DONE Sleepy21!

I'm loving your boundaries! (and yours too quirky lol).

You're stepping this self-care thang up a notch Sleepy lol.... the HEALTH food store?
    GO YOU!

My favourite thing from the health food store is Weleda hand cream lol... I bought stacks of stuff like homeopathics etc earlier this year and they really helped... either they did or the placebo did lol... either way they did!

You're really showing us how it's done with your self-care Sleepy, thankyou!

Thanks, EM. :) Great work, Quirky (with a nod to EM & Blueberry for same). I'm on board with the concept of purging unhealthy relationships from one's life, have done a lot of it, myself.

    Today's self care:

    1) Unreasonably long sleep-in. It was cosy in there!

    2) Continuing on a theme... breakfast cupcake! (Also home-made - chocolate, with a bit of whipped cream and the fanciest sprinkles I own on top, hehe.)

    3) Celebrating hatchday of my first born birdie with our little family.

    HI Blue's Clues

Lol is there such a thing as an unreasonably LONG sleep in? I think that's awesome!

Happy hatchday li'l birdie! so sweet.

    1. I was lucky to get any sleep at all with the party at my house last night lol... the kids were quiet but 15 kids in the house... yah... LATE night.
So I slept is my self-care lol.

    2. I took time out from the housework and mattresses everywhere lol to watch the grandchildren on an indoor climbing thingy and it was INCREDIBLE... so cleverly designed. The kids had a BALL and it was nice to smile and laugh with them.

    3. We had a yummy Chinese lunch and I got to bring the leftovers home! double yum lol.

Busy day today. But it was such a beautiful day outside.

Dug a hole, put a wood post in, and concreted it in to put the last corner on our shade sail. Showed my son how its done.

fixed a burst pipe in the lawn. Also showed my son how to fix it.

replaced 2 fly wire screens. Which my daughter desperately wanted to help with.

Watched the kids jumping through the sprinkler.

Took in all the smells of the spring flowers in the garden.
