    Hi sleepy21, EM, and all.

not a self care list, just a comment.

i really like reading the self care lists that everyone puts on. It makes me a little less sad reading them, and gives me ideas on how i can take care of myself better, especially at the moment.

    thank you!

HI Not_Batman thankyou for your thoughtful post.

I started this thread because I really struggle with self-care too. Like really struggle.

Thankyou Sleepy21 and Nobodee - love your avatars! Welcome to the forums Nobodee, I hope you like the company here and feel supported as I have. xxxx

    My self-care for today is:

    * seeing a Specialist in less than an hour so I better be quick! This was delayed 6 months due to Covid and 2y due to Courts so I'm nervous tbh.. but it means a hospital thang...

    * seeing a Dr this afternoon for other clear issue - I know what they'll do next here

    * family coming over for dinner tonight lol... not much physical "self-care" there lol... but alot of emotional self-care for sure.

Love your work, love you peeps!

Sitting in my rocking chair looking out of the window enjoying the wild birds harmoniously singing to each other. It's so calming & relaxing to enjoy the natural beauty around the area.

It's my favourite thing to do, look at nature.

You painted a beautiful picture that made me smile in your last post.

    Nice.

    Yesterday i:

Left an event while triggered - got home safely and took a break

    made a home-made chai

cancelled a gp appointment with a random gp which prbably would've just confused me - will wait longer to see my regular Gp who i know and trust.

Looks like I'm not the only one stepping back from company, the ol' social burnout has crept in. Today, I:

    - Bowed out of a social engagement I didn't have energy for in favour of a day to myself.

    - Am spending snuggle time with my birds.

    - Have made a passive start on the jobs I want to do (started up the washing cycle while I have some coffee). Whilst doing jobs doesn't sound much like self care, achieving something useful in my day is a huge part of keeping my mental health in check - with my partner out, I can get some work done, and be chilled and ready for company again by the time he comes home.

Peeps I'm REALLY Proud of us also saying "no" when we need to... for how long did we say yes in efforts to please others and it was a bad idea?
Lol, STACKS of times for me....

More power to us beautiful people.

Blue's WHATEVER YOU consider self-care makes the list! Just post it and I'm proud of you! 😍

Sleepy21, I need to explain the charcoal heart lol... it's the new colour scheme in your home, so hence the charcoal, otherwise seeing your posts is a pink heart 💗 and then one with a sparkle because you're a sparkle to me 💖 and then a beating heart too💓. Hope you're feeling better.

    My self-care for today (lol):

    * stayed in my pyjamas ALL DAY LONG and it's fan-fairy-tastic lol

    * made pancakes for breakfast and ate some

    * had a LONG nap after breakfast

    * talked with my American fiancee over the phone and we avoided talking about the elections! Now that's relationship care right there lol.

    * tonight I'm having a long hot bath and using some girly scrubby things on my body. Yay.

    LOVE EM

hi all - em ur right i am in process of trying to do more self-care, just getting started!

but today was so stressful i found it hard to identify them. This care is a lifesaver, through and through!

Not_Batman I'm embarrassed to admit I washed a mildly offensive show called Workaholics on Stan

it's really stupid but i'm laughing so that's the main thing :)

    Great work everyone. Today I:

    1) Well, technically it was yesterday - I made sushi. It's not too hard, but very involved and time consuming, and I'm a bit proud that I did it.

    2) Am about to go for a walk and enjoy the (finally) nice weather.

    3) Wearing shorts to show off the tattoo on my leg. Way too long since the weather let me do that, I've been freezing and in long pants almost constantly since I got it. >: |

    WELL DONE peeps!

You're showing us how this self-care thing is done!

My self-care is involving learning how to relax lol!

    Today I:

    * ate a yummy sweet potato noodle dish with Asian sauces for lunch today. I had it heating in the crock pot all night and took a thermos of it to work. The rest is in the fridge for later.

    * drank kombucha - I spoilt myself and bought a bottle ages ago... my daughter wants to show me how to make it but I think it'll be too stressful tbh, IDK.

    * dressed up for work today. Nice clothes, shoes and earrings etc. Luckily for THAT because I had a surprise 1:1 meeting with my boss and weird news there!

    * used a trick I saw on a show, to use perfume in my hair lol. I also tried an expensive hand cream just wiped through my hair today. It was nice smelling that!

    * had a nap after work.

    Love EM
