    Hello Ladyhawke

Thankyou for the big hug, I have received it. I am sending you one back if you would like one.

I am glad you felt inspired to walk again. That is way good....... In fact you have encouraged me. So whereabouts did you use to walk? Around the block, bush walking or in a park?

So I am guessing Tess your dog is pretty strong then??

    Anyway Good on you! Ladyhawke

Hi Sherie! I took your advice and am currently taking a very gentle walk around the Brisbane River at West End. I am not from here and I find it quite lovely. I am a little jealous of the runners passing me however!

    Hey Bob

    Hello to you!

Are you giving the muscles in your body a little time to recover, from all the running? Have I got that right?

I am only just learning about the impact exercise has on our physical body. Including our mental health.

    Anyway good on you!

Ha ha, very good Bob.  I am impressed with your show of restraint in not running off after all the other runners.  The gentle walk around the Brisbane River sounds good.  Take your time and enjoy the sights and sounds of everything as you pass them leisurely by.  Your body and mind will thank you for it .................

Good work.  ( - :     You are a bit of an enigma Bob.  The rest of us are trying so hard to push ourselves to exercise and yet here you are with me trying to haul you back a bit in order to allow rest and recovery time.

I hope to start back with a walk myself either tomorrow or Thursday.  Depends on what happens with work.

Hi Shell and Elizabeth.  Where have you walked today, or have you done something else instead?

Don't get me wrong Sherie: motivation is a problem for me too. It is just a matter of getting started. As a therapist once told me, "motivation follows action."

I do ...  I'd been trying to figure out if it was a palm tree in the background, or some of your hair sticking out.  ( - :

So, are you in Brisbane for long?  And are you planning another nice walk to explore somewhere else in the city today?

Exploring the magistrates court this morning. I'm not too stressed, well a little. I'm the aggrieved party. Long story.

    Hello to everyone

No Sherie, I didn't go for a walk yesterday, just had bad headaches. Still have one, so I will be resting here in my dark bedroom.

Rob, I too was wondering what that was on your head there.

Elizabeth, I am glad you were able to relax a bit. As I know you sometimes find that a challenge to actually do. The swimming sounds real good.

Paul, I am not sure what to say, so I will just give you a hug.

    Ladyhawke Hello again to you.

Hugs to any of you dear folks that would like one, I need to go back to sleep. Felt like I rushed writing this post,I just wanted to say thank you to all of you, and say hello.

    Shelley xx

I have found this application called "the walk" it releases bits of a story which you are part of as you walk. It has made my 10km a day a little more entertaining. Hope you are all well...

I haven't walked today or yesterday. Yesterday I drove home from phillip Island & then saw my psychologist & ran out of time. Today I saw my psychiatrist & then spent the day getting ready for my son & family arriving tomorrow for 4 days. they live in the UK but are spending most of the time with his wife's family in Sydney. I did the lawn so that gave me exercise. The next few days will be very hectic as the rest of my kids will be coming round asmuch as possible to spend time with my son's family. Since all 9 grandkids are 5 & under they leave a trail of mess& destruction behind. Will get back on track walking ASAP

Hey Rob, I think I got your name mixed up with Bob. I think I feel a little embarrassed now....

I have never heard of that app before, that one you are using when you go walking. I have walked listening to audio dramas, before though. You mind can be taken off to some other place, as you listen. So maybe that is a little similar.

And Rob, I just want you to know, that you do hold a place in my heart. I haven't never forgotten you, as you were indeed the first person to help me on BB.

So do you power walk that 10km? My walking is more a leisurely sort of pace at the moment. But I hope as I become more fit, I will be able to endure a quicker pace.

So where do you walk, along roads or bushwalking?

Nice visiting with you a bit, Rob.

Hey Bob, I am sorry, I got you mixed up with Rob.....

Well yes, I too was wondering what that was on your head. Cute little ones in the picture too.

You mentioned something about a fitness challenge, what does that involve? I have been on a few healthy food challenges, but not a exercise one.

    Hey Elizabeth,

You do sound a little hectic at the moment. I think it is pretty special to spend time with your family. I almost feel like advising you to just take a few deep breaths every now and then.

Yeah I agree mowing the lawn would be exercise. So good on you!

I hope you enjoy the time with all your children, and all the little ones...so precious.

    Hugs to you

    Hello to all

Well I walked up the straight, narrow road in our suburb. I walked past that house that is still being built. It now has new shiny windows in it. I did notice quite a few stars out tonight , as I looked up. The same dog on the corner kept woofing at me, as I walked past their fenced in yard. It was a little challenging to actually chose to walk, because I didn't feel like it. But I am glad I did. All good.......

Hugs to all that want one.

PS. I am missing you Sherie.

Well, two Robs are even better than one...

My walking is without effort. For something more intense I have the Zombie Run application, that is quite enjoyable. Today I walked to Victoria and back, making it a 2 state day.

Shelley, reading through it seems that you notice all the magic when walking, like the stars and the changes in the houses along the way, I do love that about a good walk.

    Robbie.

I walked around town yesterday from 1pm up until 4pm.   The township itself is flat and spread out. I rested 3 times because it was 39 and I felt weak.   I went into my 3 fav  op shops and just walked through them all kind of quick because I felt like I was being watched.  Then I sat in a café to rest then in front of Coles at the taxi rank and an old lady asked me to look after all her shopping while she went to get her car.  Yeah that was really something else being trusted with a stranger's stuff.  Not many people trust these days.   I guarded it with my arm over it because some regulars who hang around there are pretty suss.

Hey Paul......Was there two horse and carts then that you saw on your walk?  What do the people have in the carts, like fresh produce or something? I love the idea of the horse and carts, it is like going back in time. Live was maybe more simply then.

Can you give Prince a pat from me, if he likes pats from strangers?

    Hugs

Oh Robbie....... That walk sounds so long the way you say it..you walked to Victoria. Was that 10 km also?  Good on you!

Yes I tend to notice everything around me, when I walk. It makes it so much more interesting. I love looking up at the stars... I don't know, it makes the world seem so huge or something. Or maybe a sense of awesomeness.

Do you like hugs Robbie? If you do well.... here is one for you.

The border is only 2 km away, there is a great walk through the forest along the river. Tall trees and moonlight are on my list of favourite things, on recent night walks I have seen kangaroos, koalas, owls, bats, an echidna, and two platypus.

I am not much of one for hugs I'll admit, I think my preferred personal space could be measured in kilometres. Virtual ones are quite OK because they respect my discomfort with being touched. Can I claim being British on that one.

Sorry my walking will be restricted to walks with the family to the park. I won't have any spare time. Currently feeling stressed, tired & anxious. Stupid It is my son & his family visiting but I feel like a failure because I aren't as organised as I want to be, can't cook like his wife (she is an excellent cook & their children don't know me because they live in the UK so it is difficult to interact & my feeling of being not good enough magnify. Plus I've been persuaded to take ADs & I'm scared. I've had trouble with all the ones I've tried.  will get back on track next week
