Hey everyone, I was just wanting suggestions. As I am out raged about Beyond Blue, It's Incredible a complicated Website trying to figure out how to post and find your post responses. It's even more en infuriating that this Website is designed to help people and they put a word limit on how much your allowed to discuss regarding your situation.

Is there Anywhere else I could turn to that's online that's similar to a site like this, that's based in Australia?

    Dear Babysteps

Your previos threads that I know of are here, newest on top:

    https://www.beyondblue.org.au/get-support/online-forums/staying-well/life-can-be-problematic-2-0---miss-diagnosis-uncertainty-

    and

    https://www.beyondblue.org.au/get-support/online-forums/young-people/life-can-be-problematic-

(Please note these are not live links and need to be pasted into your browser)

It can be very frustrating not to find your past work. Normally there are three grey buttons, ALL POSTS - NEW POSTS - MY THREADS, the latter listing where you have written.

As someone who has used other forums at times I cannot in all honesty say they are any easier to navigate,

When I first started here I too found the word limit somewhat frustrating, as my life like so many, has a lot to it and simply does not fit. I have changed my mind now, as I find there is more than enough detail in 2,500 characters to get me started talking with someone, and more facets of a person's life can be described in subsequent posts and given proper attention.

To try to deal with everything in an extra long post would be to do the poster a disservice, as I'd be sure to miss out matters that were important.

May I suggest you return to the top of those two threads listed and continue to talk htere. My impression is you found at least some of the responses helpful

    Hi BabySteps,

Thanks for your post and for asking these questions. It sounds like you're really frustrated over the website and the word limit and I understand that. Everything that you've spoken about is shared a lot by the community. While the word limit is staying in place (for lots of reasons), BB are working to provide a better platform to make things much easier.

Often with new posters the word limit is not enough, so they'll make posts below their original posts to continue their story and what they wish to say.

With all that said though, Sane is another website that offers forums, although they only recommend 300 words and I'm unsure if they have a word limit also.

    Hi BabySteps,

We apologise that navigating the forums has been a distressing experience for you, this is certainly something we are continuing to make improvements on as our online community continues to grow. As Croix and Romantic_thi3f have explained, the word limit is in place to encourage a dialogue between members rather than posting blocks of text that may be difficult and intimidating for members to read. We understand how complex a person’s story may be, which is why we suggest members share their journey over time and acknowledge that members may have to come back to explain further details that may have been missed.

To support members in determining what details to mention/leave out in their post , it may be helpful to write out your post (i.e. on a word document or journal) and then reflect on what main pieces you hope the community to support you with. If you would like to discuss any further questions or concerns about the forums please feel free to get in touch with us at modsupport@beyondblue.org.au . We truly value your feedback and appreciate you reaching out on the forums.
