You really don’t realize how brilliantly beautiful you are, breaking old beliefs and grasping your bliss.
I realize it’s ridiculously hard and messy but you can do ridiculously hard and messy things.
Are you shaken? Good. Keep going. You were shaken before and here you are. Still standing. Doing this. Shining and expanding and gloriously undefined.

“The plain fact is that the planet does not need more successful people.

But it does desperately need more peacemakers, healers, restorers, storytellers, and lovers of every kind.

It needs people who live well in their places.

It needs people of moral courage willing to join the fight to make the world habitable and humane.

And these qualities have little to do with success as we have defined it.

And of the quote, it is not enough to be compassionate, you must act... what if you are unable to? Limitations, financial restrictions, rejections... setbacks... how does one maintain light and hope, without desperately grasping at delusions to make do with a sad existence, or living desperately in denial?

    Hello JPeachy.

    Welcome to the forums.

I think compassion can be enacted in small ways, that limitations do not restrict. I don't think the Dalai Lama meant large acts or great sums of money.

Mother Theresa said "We cannot all do great things. But we can all do small things with great love".

Thich Nhat Hang teaches that compassion is a verb. That sympathy is something you feel, compassion is something you do, something you choose to practice.

And Jack Cornfield reminds us that your compassion is incomplete if it does not include yourself.

I hope you can have compassion on yourself today JPeachy.

    Be well.

    Hi JPeachy,

It’s lovely to have you on board here :) Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts, and fair enough, I get what you’re saying.

I was going to write a response but then saw birdy’s thoughtful reply...I don’t really have much to add to what she has said. I think she covered it nicely...

Thanks again for writing in, and I hope to see you around the forums :)

    Kind thoughts,

    Pepper

Let the version of yourself that you were, teach you. Let the version of yourself that you are currently, comfort you. Let the version of yourself that you are becoming, inspire you. You are the version that you need and have needed to be in every phase of your journey.

On being whoever you feel you need or want to be. On self mastery :)

    Belonging so fully to yourself

that you’re willing to stand alone

is a wildnerness - an untamed,

    unpredictable place of solitude

and searching. It is a place as

    dangerous as it is breathtaking,

a place as sought after as it is

    feared. The wilderness can often

    feel unholy because we can’t

control it, or what people think

about our choice of whether to

venture into the vastness or not.

But it turns out to be the place of

    true belonging, and it’s the

    bravest and most sacred place

    you will ever stand.

    - Brene Brown

    Refuse to apologise for being.

You are not taking up space.

    You are a mountain.

    - Alison Malee

    Don't tame yourself. Free
    yourself. Don't quieten
    yourself, let your fire
    be. Live your life with
    heart, with passion. You
    are beautiful, electric.
    Don't conform. Don't let
    the world keep you small.

    On healing...

    There is no timestamp on

    trauma. There isn’t a formula

that you can insert yourself into

to get from horror to healed.

    Be patient. Take up space.

Let your journey be the balm.
