I'm an absolute newbie, what I haven't seen yet even though I'm writing a reply is a message telling me how to get to the forums, nor one that says I'm there... I guess I must have missed something. Could be because I have major depression and concentration isn't high on my curriculum vitae. Hope this doesn't sound like whinging, you may get a lot of that yourselves. What I have found on Beyond Blue are some very kind volunteers and a very useful phone number.

    Hi Spoono and welcome.

Just wondering how you are finding your feet on the forums?

I use the forums on my mobile only and it did take a while to learn to navigate. I think you're right about being unwell making it harder.

For me I saved this address as a favourite so if I get lost or frustrated it is easy to return to the main screen and scroll through all categories. Maybe it will help you too?

    https://www.beyondblue.org.au/get-support/online-forums

    I hope you keep trying.

Hello SPOONO, if you click 'All Posts' there are different sections to start a New Thread, then click on the section you are struggling with yourself, let's say it's depression, then click on 'Depression' then you will see 'New Thread' click on that and away you go.

That's how you start, then your comment will appear on 'New Posts'.

    Hope that helps.

    Geoff.

    Hey Spoono

Thanks for being 'on the air' with everyone and for posting back to members too!

It does take time to become acquainted with how the forums work. I was in the same spot a couple of years ago

Have a good sticky beak around the forum subject titles and you will find your way :-)

I hope your weekend was good to you Spoono

No probs Spoono yes real time would be good, if it did go that way they might need to have set times because people might not do threads as much and from previous forum use and some live the thread runs very fast, hard to keep up.

If you scroll to the top of page just above the thread title is forums if you tap that it'll take you to the sections. Also when you log on you'll find you're at same place.

At the beginning of the thread here Sophie (head moderater) has written how to make a thread as well ☺

    Any questions welcome

Hi! I’m not sure if I went to the right place to ask... but can someone tell me how to make a new thread?

Do I need a computer to do it? I’m on a phone right now - don’t have access to any computers. Would an iPad work? I might be able to grt on it a bit later.

I heard of a blue button, but I never find it. Also, I am asked to sign in every 5min? Is this normal? Thank you so much!!!

    Hi Barbie

I am not sure about the phone but it does work on an iPad. I think if you can post you can’t start a thread.

Go back to all posts and then choice a heading, welcome and orientation, anxiety etc

then in top right hand corner press on new thread and create new thread.

If you I have confused you maybe someone else can write it out more clearly.

Every 5 mins sounds a lot.

    Quirky

Hi Amy welcome to the forums

I'm not 100% sure but I think if you contact the moderators in this case could be the go.

If you report your post from top R) of post then you could ask them.

    All best ☺

How can I contact moderator? I have just seen it has been posted. I really need it to be deleted before anyone replies. Otherwise, they won't remove it.

    Hey darl

"Report post" is what you need to click on. On my device it's on the top on the right side.

That'll take you to a section to write what you want to say then send it.

Any problems let us know ☺

then explain what you want done and send it.

On my device it's on the top R) of the post written in red.

Hi A small white dog, have you read the first post in this thread? It has instructions and screen captures to guide you in both making a reply to an existing thread (like you have just done) and starting a new thread.

Hi, I’m 16 years old female and I feel like there something wrong with my mental health. I feel like I have anxiety, my heat is all ways racing, I’m constantly worry about everything. I have anxiety about things I shouldn’t worry about. It’s been happen for a while but has been worse for the last 3-4 months. I have friends but I feel like no one cares and I’m second choice. Then my anxiety has me feeling like I’m depressed as well. I have been feeling low and have mood swings. I talk to one friend and they said I need help and I agree. But for me to get help I have to tell my mum and I’m so scared to. I’m embarrassed and I’m scared she will be like just see how you go. I believe my mum would understand what’s happening and believe me since I think she has had depression and anxiety before and I accidentally just found out my brother has depression and anxiety as well. I can’t get the courage to talk to her and I think deep down when I open up to her and tell her it will all become real and I’m scared. I don’t even know if I have anxiety or depression or ifs all in my head.

    Any advice

Hello AnaHart, thanks for posting your comment, and a huge welcome to you.

Would you be able to copy and paste your comment and start a new thread, because being on this particular post you won't get the involvement from other people which you need?

I've read your comment and it's very sad to know the situation you are in.

I can keep helping you here but if you can start a new thread then I can help you more and please know that there are many others who will reply back to you if it's started as a new post, if you have trouble doing this then please reply back here and I can guide you.

    Best wishes.

    Geoff.

    Dear PsychedelicFur~

Welcome to the Forum, I'm not sure I'm either groovy or lovely, but my greeting is genuine even so:) Having broken the ice would you like to make your own thread where people will see you and talk? It's not hard, if you look at the start of this thread you will see Sophie_M has set out how to do it.

I'm afraid this particular thread is for Forum related announcements and similar, so you will not get the responses you might like.

Sing out if you get stuck, we'll look out for your post

    Greetings, Croix.

Hope you are doing okay. It’s difficult at the moment for me. So I am trying to stay my usual groovy and colourful self! I will try and make a thread. Thank you oh so much for responding. I did not think anyone would respond. Appreciate the reply.

    Dear PsychedelicFur~

Well I'm sorry to hear things are not going smoothly for you. As for replies sometimes this place is slow, can't be helped, no reflection on you or what you talk about.

I'm looking forward to talking with you, but if you have hassles making your thread sing out. It honestly is not that difficult.

As for staying your usual "groovy and colorful self" your avatar certainly does that:) Reminds me of the 60's (yup I'm old ) Trying to keep cheerful and your normal way of dealing with life is a good idea.
