Just wanted to welcome you to the forums and thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry that your post hasn't been responded to yet.
I haven't been diagnosed with dysthmia, but I have struggled with depression for a long time. I think there are potentially a couple of reasons why you haven't found anything on Google.
1). People aren't always diagnosed correctly. BeyondBlue says that in dysthmia a person has to have milder depression for more than two years. I've had it since I was in grade six.
2) When people 'overcome' illnesses, they don't always write it on webpages or forums. Often we only hear the not-so-good stuff on Google.
I'm not sure if this is what you're after but I hope it provides some perspective - and yes, over time I was able to think creatively (but I struggle with my memory for other reasons!).
I can tell you that your life is not a write-off, but would you believe me? What I do know is that I have seen people truly bounce back from really really hard situations, because they just make little choices every day - to get up, to get dressed, to pick up the phone, to call a friend, to come online, to share their story.
