Beyond Blue corporate governance statement
The Constitution of Beyond Blue Limited establishes Beyond Blue for the purpose of reducing the prevalence and impact of depression, anxiety and related disorders in the Australian community and increasing the capacity of the Australian community, including governments, service providers, business and community sectors, working together, to deal with depression, anxiety and related disorders.
Beyond Blue is classified as a Health Promotion Charity under the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997 (Cth), is endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient and is eligible for certain tax concessions.
Beyond Blue also acts as the Trustee of the Beyond Blue Depression Research Ancillary Fund Trust (Trust). The purpose of the Trust is to commission and undertake research relating to depression, anxiety and related conditions.
The Directors of Beyond Blue aim to set the highest standards possible for the performance of Beyond Blue and the Trust. To that end, the Board has adopted a Governance Charter that sets out the policies and internal rules for the governance of Beyond Blue. The Charter is based, where applicable, on the ASX Corporate Governance Principles. The Charter supplements, and is subject to the Beyond Blue Constitution, the Trust Deed and all relevant legislation. The Charter is reviewed annually and updated as necessary.
