Beyond Blue mourns the passing of trusted advisor and former Company Secretary, Ian Jenkins, a significant contributor to the organisation’s governance for more than 21 years.
Mr Jenkins was a respected and highly experienced finance and governance specialist who served Beyond Blue from 2005 – as Company Secretary until 2012, then continuing his service as an independent member of Beyond Blue’s Audit, Risk & Finance Committee.
Beyond Blue Chair, The Hon. Linda Dessau AC CVO, said Mr Jenkins was a wise and steady presence whose integrity and judgement strengthened the organisation over many years.
“Ian brought a rare mix of rigour and generosity to his work, and was deeply committed to Beyond Blue’s purpose,” Ms Dessau said.
“His great expertise, always quietly but incisively delivered, provided the Board and leadership team with confidence in the quality of the decisions we made together.
“Beyond Blue is a better organisation for Ian’s contribution.”
Beyond Blue CEO, Georgie Harman AO said Mr Jenkins was a tireless advocate for Beyond Blue and a source of expert advice and insight.
“Ian supported Beyond Blue and our people with unwavering care and professionalism,” Ms Harman said.
“He was well known here for his commitment to deeply considered, accountable decision-making, and was always focused on what would best serve the community.
“Ian’s loss is a great sadness to all of us at Beyond Blue, but we are thankful for the contribution he made and the man he was. We will miss him greatly.”
Beyond Blue extends its heartfelt condolences to Mr Jenkins’ wife, Penny, and daughters Nicola and Sarah, and to his family, friends, and colleagues.
