    Dear Lynne~

I can well understand the problem, and I'm not sure these is one answer that fits every situation, many threads deal with more than one thing - anxiety and depression often go together as an example.

There are however couple of things that one can bear in mind:

Can I suggest it is the thread title that is the key. If others can see in just a few words the main thrust of your post it will attract those who are able to relate. After all it will be listed in new posts irrespective of what section it is in.

The other thing of course is sometimes a thread is very obviously in the wrong section,in which case you could "Report Post" your post and ask to see if admin would consider moving it to anther section. I'm not sure that is done very often but may be worth an ask if you find things are completely of of place.

I hope this is of some help. Readers and admin here are pretty forgiving and in any case wish to make things as easy for you as they can and ensure you get the best result possible.

    Hi all

sorry if this has been asked and answered already...

Is there a way I can “follow” a thread? There are some threads I find useful or interesting however don’t want to or can’t comment on them. I’d like a way to find these threads again so I can keep reading over it. I can see by commenting the thread appears under the “my threads” area..

    thanks

Hi, what I would do is add a comment (post) like...

Tagging to follow the thread. I am interested in this topic...

Nobody will think better or worse of you. In fact that you are interested in the topic could mean that later on you might feel a need to reply.

    Hi Nervybella,

This is a great question - thank you for asking it. I think this is coming in the new platform so hopefully they'll be a very easy way to do this!

The other option that you could consider is to bookmark the thread in your browser. That way you can click on the thread whenever you like, but there's no pressure to type anything if you don't want to.

    hi,

so i am currently in year 12, my hsc is coming in 3 weeks. i have one job that i have been working at for almost a year and have recently been hired by another company. i never realised how hard having two jobs is and i am getting anxiety because of how much i stress and worry. i worry that i wont have enough time to study, also some employees at the new job aren’t very nice. i constantly stress and get really bad anxiety about going to my shifts at my new job. my sisters say i should keep both jobs because of the money id make, however my mum says i should quit the new job because the employer doesnt pay properly and i am frequently stressed which is preventing me from studying efficiently. i dont know what i should do so if anyone could help id appreciate it a lot.

    Dear sezisstressed~

I'll try to say a few words to you here but by rights you should have your own thread -this here is one for technical questions, not about people.

If you are unsure how to make your own thread see the very first post in this FAQ thread here, Sophie_M explains what to do

(If you get stuck sing out)

OK, now for your circumstances: it looks to me like you are trying to get everything done you possibly can in your life, HSC for oyur future plus 2 jobs for the money.

If I had to choose I'd say anything that made your HSC more difficult should be shelved for a while, and if your mum agrees then I guess that might be a pretty good indicator.

Getting stressed right when you need study time and concentration seems to me to be counter-productive. I found HSC hard enough to need my full attention plus study.

If cash gets short can your mum help out -or even your sister?

It sounds like I'm telling you waht to do, I"m not, just trying to put myself back in time in your shoes and see the priorities - you may well disagree, or have other factors to consider we have not talked abut.

I'd like to know what you think (preferably in a new thread)

When you do make a new thread give some thought to the title as that is what lets people know what to expect.

I hope to hear from you soon

Croix (who did not enjoy HSC either but got there in the end)

    Dear Lynne

Some threads are locked so you cannot add a new post. They do not have a reply button underneath the posts but do have a padlock on the listing in ALL POSTS, NEW POSTS or MY THREADS.

The thread you are talking about

Let's be honest: Does this forum help you or do you at times feel alienated?

is one of these, another example is

Forums / Welcome and orientation / Introducing...the community champions

    Does that help?

    Hi Lynne

The reason the lock symbol is on some threads is due to the moderators closing off the particular thread for a number of various reasons

Even Croix and myself (or anyone member or Champion) cant respond to it. Those threads have been closed as per the moderators decision for any reason they see fit.

    kindest always

    Dear Lynne

I guess there's a moral buried inside that. Mañana has a downside:)

I do not know why it is locked. If you want to talk to a particular person you can try elsewhere by Googling them -e.g:

    Croix beyondblue forum

Will get you a few hits:)

    Hi,

There's been some great and helpful responses here about why the thread has been locked.

I just thought that I would add that if you scroll down to the bottom of the post you'll always see a message why it's been locked. Sometimes it's because the question isn't appropriate for the forums, it's gone too far off track, there's double questions etc etc.

With the let's be honest thread, Sophie M decided to lock it because the responses were all much the same and the original poster (Jennifer) had already decided that Beyond Blue wasn't going to be helpful for her.

Hope this gives some clarity and thank you for your question :)
