Beyond Blue Support Service and Mind Australia collaboration
Beyond Blue and Mind Australia are piloting a new support service for people who regularly contact us for assistance and may benefit from more ongoing help.
The heart of it
This pilot brings Beyond Blue and Mind Australia together to offer more consistent, short‑term support for people who contact us often and may need ongoing help.
A counsellor may suggest this pathway if it feels like a better match — taking part is always your choice.
Beyond Blue continues to provide immediate support, while Mind Australia offers structured sessions over time to build practical skills and connections.
The goal is simple: help people feel more supported without having to start over each time they reach out.
Who this new support service is for
The service is for a small number of people who:
Contact the Beyond Blue Support Service regularly
May be dealing with ongoing or complex challenges
Could benefit from more structured, consistent support
It is not offered to everyone. Our counsellors will only suggest it if they think it may be helpful.
How the new support service works
A Beyond Blue counsellor may talk with a caller about this option
If the caller agrees, a referral is made to Mind Australia
Mind Australia contacts the caller to talk through next steps
Support is provided over a set number of sessions, focused on your personal goals
Taking part is always a choice.
What the service offers
The new service looks to build practical skills and help you connect with other supports. It’s delivered by qualified and experienced counsellors and been designed to work alongside other services, not replace them.
Support through Mind Australia:
Is time-limited and structured
Focuses on practical strategies, motivation and goal setting
Supports people to build skills and confidence over time
Is free and funded by Beyond Blue
Information sharing and privacy
With your consent, Beyond Blue and Mind Australia share limited information to support safe and consistent care.
This may include whether someone is engaging with the service, attendance, and overall outcomes to inform ongoing support options.
Access and availability
While working with Mind Australia, people are encouraged to focus on building a consistent relationship with their counsellor. If urgent help is needed, crisis and emergency services are still available.
