Major giving

Becoming a Major Donor is a great way of having a positive and enduring impact on mental health.

Anxiety, depression and suicide affect millions of people across Australia every year. With a major gift you can directly help those struggling with mental health, supporting Beyond Blue to deliver its services, resources, campaigns and programs across the community.

A major gift is a significant financial donation made by individuals, families, charitable trusts, foundations, businesses or private ancillary funds (PAFs).

Every major gift is life-changing.

Every day, hundreds of people experiencing anxiety, depression and thoughts of suicide reach out to Beyond Blue for support. Major gifts are an important source of funding for Beyond Blue. They help us to provide vital support services for the community, deliver innovative and evidence-based programs and initiatives, and create information, resources and campaigns to raise awareness of mental health and wellbeing.

What impact will your gift have?

Your major gift will go to providing mental health support, advice, information and resources to those in need. This includes vital services such as the Beyond Blue Support Service, which is entirely funded by community and philanthropic donations, operating around the clock to provide immediate counselling, information and referrals over the phone, by webchat and via email.

Major gifts are also an important source of support for our programs, research and campaigns too. Major donors who provide significant gifts can have the opportunity to directly support specific programs, research and campaigns.

If you’re interested in making a significant major gift and directly funding a specific initiative please contact Simonne Michelle, Philanthropy Lead, by email on Simonne.Michelle@beyondblue.org.au or by phoning (03) 9892 6927

Are you a charitable trust, foundation or fund interested in providing a ‘grant’?

Philanthropic grants from charitable trusts, foundations and funds, are a really important and valued source of funding for services, program, research and advocacy.

Beyond Blue has strong governance and administration, as well and project management, monitoring, reporting and impact measurement in place for all its initiatives. This ensures that all grants are managed and provided to the agreed program area and are reported and acquitted in line with the requirements of each trust, foundation or fund.

If you are interested (or representing a client who is interested) in providing a grant to Beyond Blue, please contact Sharney Bowen, Major Gifts Manager by email on Sharney.Bowen@beyondblue.org.au or by phoning (03) 7044 0761

Our Major Donors

We value our Major Donors and the contribution they make to our organisation and our work.

We provide our Major Donors with regular updates on the impact of their support as well as opportunities to attend Beyond Blue events and visit our office and program sites.

Recognising that a major gift is a significant contribution, we also (with consent) publicly recognise our Major Donors on our website, and significant Major Donors in our Annual Report.

Thank you to all our Major Donors, including many who wish to remain anonymous or not be recognised. So much of the work at Beyond Blue has been possible through your generosity and support.
