Beyond Blue is thrilled to team up with Coastrek, Australia’s iconic team hiking and fundraising challenge that’s all about fun, fitness, friendship, fresh air – and making a real difference.
Every year, over 10,000 trekkers lace up their boots and hike more than 260,000 kilometres of stunning coastal trails around Australia including Sydney, the Mornington Peninsula, Sunshine Coast, Fleurieu Peninsula and the Margaret River region.
Whether you're chasing sunrises, swapping stories with teammates, or soaking in the salty breeze, Coastrek is your chance to connect with nature, boost your mental wellbeing, and raise vital funds for the Beyond Blue 24/7 Support Service.

Benefits of hiking for mental health
Keeping active and spending time in nature are proven ways to manage stress and increase mood. Add connecting with others over a shared sense of purpose to the mix, and Coastrek provides the perfect platform for maintaining good mental health.
Supporting each other as a team while training for your 20km, 30-35km or 50km hiking challenge is a powerful way to strengthen relationships and improve mental health.
Coastrek also establishes a positive connection with exercise and fitness, forming healthy habits that benefit trekkers way beyond the finish line.

Trekkers are encouraged to raise funds in support of Beyond Blue’s 24/7 support service.
The Beyond Blue Support Service provides free phone and online counselling from a compassionate team of mental health professionals.
More than 750 people reach out to the Beyond Blue Support Service every day. That’s over 250,000 life-changing conversations every year. The funds you raise will help make sure every call is answered.

We have volunteers from all ages and stages, with a wide range of skills and experiences. You’ll simply need:
- A positive, can-do attitude!
- To be eligible to work in Australia.
- To be over 18 years old.
