Hi everyone new members and older members alike.
This recent post from Danny is heartbreaking...
"My question is what if nobody replies to your post? It’s really upsetting- it’s hard to ask for help then nobody bothers"
Danny kudos to you for reaching out again and making your need known.
Quirky and Paul are spot on in that it is a priority on these forums to reply asap. For the reason that Danny mentions... Not being replied to hurts. Every post is someone making themselves vulnerable at a time when they're already not feeling great. So waiting feels like rejection.
And that brings me to a message to all members that I feel gets forgotten at times... Anyone is welcome to reply to posts.
There isn't a right or wrong way to answer a thread. Just keep the forum rules in mind and speak as you would to a friend who is hurting.
At times members who regularly reply to others (not just us CC vollies, there are so many members who quietly give their time to others) may be unwell themselves or unable to post. So there can be a delay.
It helps when you post to remember these forums are made of regular people helping other regular people. We're human. So if there is a delay and you feel rejected or ignored please remember these are unhelpful thoughts (often made worse by anxiety or depression). While you wait for a reply there is nothing stopping you from joining in on other threads, threads in the social or staying well sections are a good place to join in I've found.
But most importantly... Yes people do care. And yes you are important. A wait is not personal although it feels like it.
