Launch of workplace e-learning program for iPads and iPhones

26 July 2012

Beyond Blue's Workplace Mental Health Awareness e-learning Program is now available in an iPad and iPhone friendly format.

This online program aims to help raise people's awareness of the signs and symptoms of depression and anxiety, and where to get help for yourself, or a friend or colleague.

Even though it was originally produced with a focus on educating men in their workplaces, it's suitable for everyone - men, women, older people and young people.

With funding from the Federal Government, Beyond Blue launched this e-learning program in February 2012. In its first five months, around 2000 workplaces have registered and an estimated 4000 individuals have completed it.

More than eight out of 10 users said they were satisfied or very satisfied with information provided and the way it was presented.

It is estimated that depression in the workplace costs the Australian community $12.6 billion over one year, with the majority of the cost related to lost productivity and job turnover brought on by people's mental illness.
