On Tuesday Beyond Blue Chair The Hon. Julia Gillard AC delivered a keynote speech at Suicide Prevention Australia's national conference in Melbourne. Ms Gillard, urged the sector to seize the "window of opportunity" of political interest.
Ms Gillard called on governments to work together to fill gaps in the system, saying people who have suicidal thoughts need "appropriate options" to stay safe in the community and services must be funded for the long term.
