This Women's Health Week (4 - 8 September 2017), Beyond Blue will be raising awareness of women's mental health issues and encouraging women to put themselves first and seek support.
Females are more likely than males to experience depression and anxiety. One in five females will experience depression in their lifetime compared to one in eight men; one in three females will experience an anxiety condition in their lifetime compared to one in five men.
To shine a light on the many faces of mental health issues experienced by women, we will be creating a video and web content featuring female blueVoices members talking about their unique experiences and their advice to other women.
The video will be promoted during Women's Health Week on social media channels and the Beyond Blue website - as well as through broader networks as part of our partnership with Jean Hailes for Women's Health, Women's Health Week campaign.
The quotes from blueVoices members will feature on the Beyond Blue website, alongside information relevant to women's mental health, how to seek support and keep well.
